flashback
The bell hanging above the door frame jingled as two figures stepped into the coffee shop. The aroma of freshly brewed cocoa beans flew it's way up her nose as she sat down by a corner table.
Jinho oppa placed his jacket on the chair opposite from her before getting up to order the pair some drinks.
She sat there fiddling with her phone, her earphones plugged into one if her ears, when he sat back down with two cups of coffee in his hand. One with no milk or sugar for him, and one with extra milk and sugar, just the way she liked it.
She placed her phone down onto the rustic wooden table as she picked up the cup in her hands, sipping the coffee in delight.
He glanced at her and chuckled. She really loved her coffee. And that was known to all of her friends and family. She drank coffee a lot, it made her day feel better and it was like her drug. Some people thought it was like an unhealthy addiction to her, but she couldn't care less.
Her attention then went from her coffee to the man before her.
"So, oppa. What was it that you wanted to talk to me about?"
With her words, he flinched. The change of expression in his demeanor was now more evident than before, and she could sense it. She placed down her cup, propping her arms on the table as she moved closer towards him, her eyes filling with worry and confusion.
"Oppa, what is it?" she pressed on.
He looked into her eyes, his heart clenched knowing he didn't want to be the bearer of bad news to his friend, but his professional life was of a higher priority than his personal life at that moment in time, and so he had to.
"Areum-ssi, listen to me alright." She nods.
"No matter what happens after this, it will be for the best okay?"
"What is it Jinho oppa? You're scaring me."
He heaved in a breath of air, as the words fell out of his mouth.
"You have to break up with Mark."
