I tip toed up to the deck where I saw Jim preparing his solar surfer with all it got. When he saw me he gave me a smile.

"Can you pass me the hammer?" He asked and I obeyed. "Thanks."

It almost took five minutes, but finally he was done and walked over to me and gave me a hug.

"In a few minutes we'll be up in the sky where no one can tell us what to do, just you and me."

I hugged him tight back and nodded.

"Yes.."

We let go of each other and he went on it first and reached out for my hand. I took it and jumped on behind him. He started the solar surfer and I felt no more afraid of the heights. I felt safe and protected even far up in the sky. When I was with him it was like a big shield of happiness and love. I squeezed him a little and buried my cheek into his back and waited for him to take off to the sky.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?!"

We both gasped and turned around and saw my mom stand there with her hand in her sides.

"Hurry Jim!" I yelled and he kicked on something and we flew up.

"Get back here!" Me mom screamed at us, but we didn't listen and he kept on flying further into the sky until we no longer could see the ship.. or my mom.

I sighed and felt a little empty inside. I left my mother for the love of my life and best friend. I cleared my throat and shook my head.

"It's gonna be okay," Jim suddenly said. "She's gonna get over it and accept it some day."

I closed my eyes and nodded. I believed so and hoped so too. She was just.. any other overprotective mom.

"Fortunately," I whispered. "Fortunately Yes, but until then, let's just focus on us."

He smiled and we flew cross the sky to another place to be. Just him and I. Together like I've always dreamt of.
