I came ramming down the stairs in the inn and out in the kitchen where Jim was cleaning dishes. I hit my fist against the countertop and he looked scared at me.

"What the hell!" He yelled and threw the plate out of his hand.

"Who the hell do you think you are!" I shouted at him. "It's the fifth time this week!"

"What is?!" He asked.

"I put my hand in my pocket and took a piece of paper out and smacked it on the countertop.

"Dear god.." he said and rubbed his eyes with his hand. "I can explain.."

"Please do! Explain why we can't afford staying here! These are bills from months.. even years!" I shouted.

"Not so loud!" He hissed and grabbed my arms.

"Let go of me!"

I pulled back and he sighed irritated.

"You liar! You promised me we could pay! How come we not afford to! And how long have you kept this a secret for me!"

"Babe, Relax. We'll figure something out.."

I was breathing heavily and my fists were clenched. How could he keep this a secret for me?

"How, Jim? HOW! We can barely afford to pay for the electricity and water! I mean-"

"(Y/N)!" He shouted making me shut up. "Relax! I told you we'll find something out!"

"We?" I asked and made my eyes small. "Oh Mr.. there's no we anymore. I've had it!"

I hit the countertop before storming out of the room.

"Wait!"

He followed me but I didn't care. I walked all the way outside and was about to go over to a station, but he grabbed my arm and turned me around.

"What do you mean there's no we anymore. Are you seriously breaking up with me?!"

"Yes, Jim. I mean.." I sighed. "Since your mom died you've been a wrack.. you can barely look out after yourself! How would you look out after an inn, me and.. our future?"

I saw how his eyes started to become watery. His nose was twitching. I also felt sadness float over my body. All the anger disappeared and became sadness, but this was for the best.

"Please don't, (Y/N), you're the only thing I have right now. You can't just leave me.."

I sniffed and cupped his cheek with one of my hands and rubbed his cheek.

"I'm so sorry Jim, but you need help and I can't give you that.. not right now. You need to get a hold on your life. Otherwise I can't be a part of it."

"But.. you are my life.."

I sniffed and pulled my hand back.

"I'm so sorry Jim."

I turned around and left him. I didn't dare to look back. I let the tears roll down my face. What have I done? I had left my best friend, my lover, my soulmate. But I couldn't go back now.
I just couldn't.

Sorry Jim.
