It was the next day at about eight in the morning when we started towards the King's castle. I wore jeans and a black long-sleeve, including my red cloak. I sat in the middle row of the SUV, which we took two of to fit the ten people. I kept my hood up to hide my face and wrapped my cloak securely around me. Thing-one and Thing-two sat on both sides of me, squishing me with their shoulders though I knew they had no control over it. In the driver seat were Alpha and the Beta (who I don't like too much) and, Jacob and another wolf, were in the way back. I was the only girl in the whole group, which I didn't appreciate. The four-hour drive was silent except for the Metallica and ICP that was playing on the radio, which I started to enjoy. Especially Fuel and Toy Box

"Welcome to the castle of the wolf king, Lucas Weylin," said Alpha. The castle was huge when we pulled up, getting a gasp out of me that I don't believe anyone heard. It had a beautiful side to the dull place. It was of simple stone with red flags on top of almost each pillar that jumped out of the cliffside. We were crossing the mossy stone brick bridge, leading to the castle over the river that divides the mainland from the castle's island. We parked in the front and I stepped out to look at the castle and make sure it was real, my mouth open wide. I didn't even care that my cloak's hood had fallen back slightly. It looked like something out of a fairy book. When I noticed the others had started to empty the SUVs, I pulled my hood down farther and lowered my head. "We'll have to meet up with the King in the throne room first. He has people to take our bags to our rooms."

I nodded my head and followed the group with the alpha in lead. We enter the throne room, to see one man sitting on the throne. The boys bowed while I curtsied even though the man was close to my age. He had black hair that was 'perfect' and dark blue eyes that looked over each of us, looking confused at me for a second longer. "Alpha Dominic. I'm glad you came." Lucas's voice was monotone and didn't show any emotion. "So which of these are the 'most dangerous' werewolf you have along with you?"

Alpha turned towards me, allowing me to answer. "I'm more considered a lab experiment, not a werewolf even though I do shift..." I said matter-of-factly, not moving from my spot in the back. Though everybody did turn towards my hooded figure.

"Dominic, I don't appreciate jokes and you know that." He said, making me chuckle.

"Does this mean I can avoid the 'ball' now, Dom?" I said, looking at up at him with a triumphant smile. "Because I think I remember the way home and I run pretty fast." I quickly changed my look to an innocent one, but the alpha wasn't watching me. He looked angry or offended at Lucas, getting another chuckle from me.

"King Lucas, I would never joke like that. Ruby is one of the most powerful wolves that I have in my pack. She was literally built to fight!" Alpha said, frustrated.

"Against my will," I added, not being helpful at all. It earned me a glare from the alpha and a few chuckles from the rest of the group (not including the king). Jacob nudged my shoulder, making me narrow my eyes at him. He followed suit, making me kind of angry. So I whispered to him, "Watch it. Just 'cause you 'saved me' does not mean I won't hurt you." He simply shrugged, making me narrow my eyes farther, ignoring whatever was going on between the alpha and the king. That's when he attempted to tackle me, "What the hell?" I shifted the same moment he did, growling at the black wolf in front of me. I towered over him, snapping my jaws.

"Ruby!" I looked over to Alpha Dominic, shifting immediately. I looked around to see all eyes on me, making me pull my hood farther down on my face. "Now you apologize to the king for interrupting our conversation." I sucked in an angry breath, but did what I was told. At the moment, I wanted to murder Jacob and I think he can tell from the glare he was receiving. He seemed to try and hide under my gaze even though I was much smaller than him in this form.

"I sincerely apologize, your highness. I didn't mean to be rude, I simply was provoked. I hope you accept my apology." I said, hating to have to do it. My teeth were grit, but I kept my head pointed to the ground to hide it.

"What have you done to the poor woman's wolf?" Asked the king, looking angered at the fact that whatever it was was unnatural. "You know that messing with another's wolf is like messing with one's soul." He said, making me shuffle slightly. I know this true, because I can feel the beast's bloodlust and anger. My bloodlust and anger.

"He didn't do anything. None of the pack did. A few scientists experimented on me at the age of six, expecting my death. They gave me the wolf, since I didn't own one in the first place. They've recently captured them and are now in cells at the pack prison." I spoke, watching the king's reaction closely. I wasn't going to watch the pack get in trouble for something the monsters did. It was the least I could do. "I'm hoping to deal with them myself, though, if the Alpha lets me."

"Fine. She'll make a great guard at the ball. Won't be expected either." He let out a sigh, mumbling something to himself, then continued. "We'll have outfits picked out for you all, and have them fitted to see which you prefer. You are dismissed."
