I blinked back into consciousness, my vision still blurred at the edges. I sat inside a cell, but there was a man standing in front of me. The Alpha. I took in his appearance quickly, looking for weaknesses. He was about six foot five, being a balanced amount of buffness and height. His hair was messy with the sides shaved. He had electrifying blue eyes that watched me carefully. I glanced down at my wrists, noticing the silver chains holding me against the cement wall. I looked around for any sight of Jacob, finding him already watching me in the cell next door. I stood up wobbling a litte and the Alpha followed my action. It took me a second to remember what happened just hours ago and it made a bark of laughter bubble up.
"You pushed me down the d*mn stairs! I didn't know that was a new thing for the prisoner. If they don't survive, they don't survive, right?" He opened his mouth to speak, but my fist was already on the move and hit him in the jaw. He stumbled backwards, out of reach now. I tried to move after him, but the silver cuffs pulled me back to the wall. "I just can't wait to get out here!"
He scoffed, leaving the dungeon entirely. I started to pull on the chains, testing how much strength would be needed to rip them out of the walls. "That will never work, Ruby. Silver weakens us, you won't be able to use your wolf's strength." I ignored Jacob and continue with my work peacefully. When I thought about it enough, I wrapped my hands around the cold chain and prepared myself for the pain, if and when the chain would dig into my hands. I put arms above my head and swung them out with all my might. Pain erupted in the center of my palms, but I didn't make a peep. "I stand corrected." I kicked my cell door open with pure determination and the lock broke on impact. Not a sound was made as the metal hitting metal echoed through the small prison.
"What do you think you're doing!?" He asked as I started to an easily accessible power thing (I forget their name), a piece of shattered silver burning my hands. At ten feet away I launched the metal like a dagger, hitting the panel's center and the lights and all power shut off. Did I forget to mention the electronic lock system? All cells opened in the darkness, prisoners stumbling or running out like it would close at any moment after some-how releasing their chain's grip. I yanked Jacob's out of the walls like I had done for myself and started to yank him along. He groaned in pain at the first touch, making remember the remnants [I don't think that's the right word..] of silver staining my pale hands. I let go immediately, gritting my teeth. We were on our own and wouldn't be able to help each other without hurting one another. The Touch burns me and the silver burns him.
"I see the target." My eyes watched the only prisoner still working at his chains, then they moved to the open door. I turned back to Jacob, who was awaiting his job. "Go home. I'll be there. If not, then he will." He looked hesitant, but I was already was moving towards the man painfully. A fierce headache thundered to the surface and my balance was wonky. I could do it. I pried the gate open and stalked toward the blasted chains. "You are coming with me, fool. To my Alpha. You are the reason I'm here and if you dare to resist, you will be coming there bloody, got it?"
He nodded and I ripped the flimsy metal out of the walls and motioned for him to follow me. He nodded again and I started to the light at the top of the stair well. He didn't try to run when we reached the top and neither did I. All the weak and strong prisoners battled the pack and the pack was loosing. I was going to sneak out until I saw a women and children being stalked. Fools. I told the boy in my care to stay put and started stalking towards the giant wolf. I shifted feet away, pouncing on to his back, ripping into his neck. He dropped after attempting to buck me off a few times. I glanced to the woman and child, huffing and puffing as air refused it enter my lungs. She was looking at me in fear, holding her child away from the gore. I lifted my head in a howl and started to take out the prisoners' that were trying to take out the weak. Once it was a fair amount, I was barely able to walk. I stumbled back to my prisoner and shifted, almost loosing balance. I caught myself and motioned for him to follow.
We made it back on to the territory and gritted out the first thing that came to mind. "Howl." I leaned on a tree and watched as the man shifted into a pure white wolf, about nine feet tall, and howled as told. My vision blurred as a cause of the pounding headache. The Alpha and Jacob, along with some guards, were there in no time. And, right before I started tipping with the world, I saw the man and Alpha wrap each other in a bear hug.
