I took a stroll around the pack territory, bored out of my mind. The festival was two days from now, not today. When I reached the doors to the pack house, I saw at least ten eighteen-year-olds gathered around two people. After pushing through some of the crowd, I realised it was Billy and an older boy that circled him. "You think, because you have a freak on your side, that you are always protected?" The unknown one spat, pushing Billy to the ground with his friends laughing around the fool.

Before he could do anything else, I had him by the throat and a foot off the ground. He was eighteen like the rest of the boys. My vision was red and a growl ripped through my throat. "What gives you the right to attack your own pack member?!" I seethed, throwing him across the ground and getting a groan of pain. I turned to look at the other boys. "I see any of you all bully your own pack members again and you'll be worse off!"

"Ruby! Why'd you do it?!" I looked to Jacob, then Jay beside him, and then at the warriors closing in on me.

"What are you talking about?! The kid was attacking another!" I struggled against the warriors' holds. No burning now. Thank god.

"Why did you kill that kid?!" Jacob yelled, Jay growling.

"What are you talking about?! If you knew me, you'd know I would never kill a young one!!" I roared, and Jacob looked disappointed in me. What the f*ck is going on? I didn't even throw that one hard enough to kill him.

"Take her to the holding cells for questioning!" Jay snapped.

They decided to inject me with silver before beating me to near death. I'm slumped up against the damp, dark, and cold cement wall. My head lolled to the side and one eye was swollen shut, so I kept both eyes closed. I could taste my poisoned blood from my mouth, but what was I supposed to do. My ribs ached furiously, feeling like someone was pouring on liquid fire constantly. My ankle burnt too, but it was less noticeable. They attempted to simply burn me at a touch at first, but that was over and they resorted to physical abuse. I didn't even know what was going on now.

I heard footsteps making their way to my cell, but I didn't even bother trying to stand. When I could feel their gazes, I decided to croak out my words. "Hello darlings.. Come to finish the job?" I peeled my blurry eyes open before shutting them again from the light flashlights they had. Two figures stood outside the bars. "I'd never take away a life with so much potential of that of a child."

"Ruby, you're the only unstable one in the pack.." Came Jacob's unsure point.

"So what your saying is that I did it without my knowledge, yah? Well. You might as well kill me. I won't admit to a death I didn't bring. I hold the burden of knowing all that die at my hand." I replied, my head lolling against the wall once again. I heard them open the cell door and Jacob kneeled beside, I recognized his scent. I flinched when he placed a hand on my shoulder.

"C'mon, darling.." He picked me up bridal style and I hissed in pain. The silver is my worst enemy at the moment. I kept my body away from his the best I could in a situation, which made him try and pull me closer. Not like I could do anything about it. We made it to a room and I was laid out on a couch, Jacob sitting my feet. "We need you to answer the questions truthfully, okay?" I let out a grunt for an answer.

"What poison was used to kill the child?" I heard Jay speak.

"Don't know." I croak.

"How many creatures have you killed in your life time?"

"Too many to count."

"How many of them were children?"

"None."

"We just need the truth, Ruby!"

My eyes shot open, blurred more than ever as I glared up at him. "What do you think I'm giving you?! I. Kill. No. CHILDREN! Ugh!" I pressed my freezing hands to my burning forehead, in attempt to cool it while coughing up my lungs. My eyes now closed, all attempts were in vain. I was loosing control. As though the thought triggered the reaction, I was shut out of my mind into a black abyss. It has had enough.

The ten foot wolf towered over us with a sneer, eyes void of all emotions. This wasn't Ruby, that I could tell. I stumbled back with Jay, attempting to get away from the deadly beast that started moving our way. It showed no pain from what Ruby had done to her. "Who do you think you are, talking to my host like that, mutts?" The wolf growled, having no trouble forming the English words through it's wolfy jaws.

"She's the one attacking children at the pack border!" Jay snapped back, but bowed his head unwillingly at the beast's growl. I struggled to keep my head up as well, keeping my eyes on the bloodthirsty ones barely taking a glance in my direction.

"If that were true, why would she deny it! You have put her in cell to become your guards' punching bags, forgetting what it's like to be there! She helped you escape and, after a few days, you're trying to sentence her to a penalty when she didn't even do the crime!" He tried to speak, but a snarl shut him up immediately. "I ask you again, fool. Who do you think you are?!" Before Jay could answer, the wolf shifted to the unconscious Ruby and I immediately caught her as she fell.

I looked up to Jay to see he was already watching me. My eyes then turned to the sleeping small girl I held in my arms. What are we supposed to do now?

What are we supposed to do now?
