In a Flash (Barry Allen x Reader)

Chapter 1

**I have taken ideas from both the show and the comic and created my own timeline in order for this story to work. I hope you like it.

I confidently stride into CCPD. I am determined that this meet and greet goes well. This is my first day on the job as the paralegal hired by the DA to specialize in meta-human cases. I am one of the first in a whole new department in the District Attorney's office created to research and handle meta-human cases so you needed to make an impression and make this count.

I see the two detectives I am here to meet huddled in conversation by their desks. The older darker skinned man is pointing at something in a file while the younger lighter skinned  man brows are knotted in concentration as he nods while listened.

"Gentlemen," I say as I approach. I put on my most confident and warm smile. "I hope I am not interrupting anything."

The detectives both look up at you and their faces change from concentration to friendly and welcoming. 

I hold out my hand. "(Y/N) (L/N), it's a pleasure to meet you."

The older of the two with a well maintained goatee takes your hand and gives it a firm shake. "Nice to meet you Miss (L/N). I'm Detective Joe West, and this is Detective Eddie Thawne." He gestures to the man with him. "You have a nice firm handshake."

The younger blond then takes your hand. You note his strong jaw line and piercing blues eyes. This one would give women a run for their money. "You can call me Eddie," he says with a smile that could melt ice. "Nice to meet you."

"You're the new paralegal assigned to the meta-human cases?" West asks.

"I am. I take it we'll be working close together then?"

"We will. I look forward to it." he replies.

"As do I."

The younger man nods in a direction behind you and to your left. "And there is one of the most important members of our team. We couldn't have caught half these guys with out him."

I turn and am met with piercing green eyes and the biggest warmest smile you have ever seen. What strikes you most about it was how genuine it was. That was rare these days. As I take the rest of him in, a lean, but strong frame and short styled chestnut tresses I thought that even though the blond was a lady killer, this guy by far was cuter...at least to me.

"Barry," Eddie said, "this is (Y/N) (L/N) she's the new paralegal that'll be helping out the DA on meta-human cases."

"Hi," Barry says enthusiastically as he offers his hand. "It's great to meet you."

I take the offered hand and smile. "My pleasure."

"I guess we'll see a lot of each other. I mean the detectives here are great at doing a lot of the leg work, but I'm the forensic work...which gets interesting and complicated. Come by any time if you need anything explained."

"Thank Barry, I'll be sure to take you up on that offer," I say and I meant it. Meta-humans had more complications when it came to the law and the forensic profiles were different so I knew I'd be needing Barry's help.

Barry turns to the detectives. "Here are the latest samples taken for yesterdays case." He passes a file to them, which reminds  you why you are here. 

"I need the latest on the Snart case. He's being treated as a meta due to his gun. Ms.Horton would like me up to speed as quickly as possible."

"Of course Miss (L/N)." Joe says as he reaches for the file and passes it to you.
