(Sorry, the weather is slowly getting better so I'll have more time to write while watching the kiddies play outside)

"Alias! Alias!" Rene is shouting at me. It sounds hallow and distant. The sound barely registers as I feel the world tilt.

"Alias!"

Two men are converging on Rene and one is heading towards me, but it feels like it's so far away.

My heart hammers in my ears drowning out Rene's shouts. My palms are slick with sweat. My stomach churns. I want scream and run and cry all at the same time.

"Alias," a calm familiar voice says in my mind, "this is Overwatch. We're on a private line. You can do this. Take a deep breath."

I do as I am told and inhale slowly and release slowly. I begin to feel my nerves calm.

"There is one guy almost on you. All you need to do is get through him. Just one," Overwatch reassures me.

I nod, a compulsory response. My grip tightens on my bo staff and I take another deep breath. As I exhale the man is right there. Its do or die now. Flight or fight.

I swing my bo staff in an arc and he catches it in his hand. I go for a kick to the gut, but he blocks.

He swiftly brings his head down on mine. Our skills crash together. I feel back seeing spot and dizzy with the pain. I am off balance. He uses that to his advantage and lands a punch to my gut. I grunt in pain, the sick feeling returning.

"Alais," Overwatch's voice is in my ear, "I know it's scary, but try to relax. Don't over think. You can do this. Remember what Oliver taught you."

What Oliver taught me. Easier said than done.

Before I can think I am yanked up by my hair.

"Let's see who's under there," his voice growls as he reaches for my mask.

I take a deep breath and Oliver's training comes back to me. Everything seems to slow for a moment. I can see the hand reaching, I know where it's going to be.

I bring my arm up deflecting his hand and knocking it away. I use our close proximity to my advantage and drive my knee into his solar plexus. This time it's him who reels back in pain.

He stands and comes in for another attack.

"No!" I shout and fling my hand out.

He is fighting to get to me. Fighting against the unseen force of my power. I don't know how long I can hold him for.

I glance over his shoulder and see Rene dodge a blow and fire a round into one of his attacker's legs. The man stumbles back in pain.

My diverted attention is all it takes for my hold to weaken and my guy to break free and charge me.

I grab my staff and swing it in front of me hoping to brace myself for his charge.

He barrels into me grabbing a hold of my staff and thrusts me back into the wall. I exhale sharply as the air is forced from my lungs.

I feint another knee to the gut and as he looks down I crack him in the temple with my fist.

He releases the staff and grabs his head.

I flick my staff up and crack the guy in the chin followed by a jab to the gut. I use his pain to build my momentum and move without thinking. I drop my heel on his head and then whip around swinging the bo staff into his side.

I yell as I use my power to pull stacked boxes from the wall on top of him.

He falls to the ground and immediately starts to struggle to his feet. I run over and deliver first a swift kick to his gut to keep him down followed by a kick to the head to knock him out.
