Forbidden

"I'm scared! Okay?!"

Dick looked at the sleeping teenager beside him. How her eyes were closed so peacefully. How her chest rose and fell. She was older than him, however, he saw only innocence. That's all he had ever seen. Since the moment they met. She wore a mask because of her powers but right from the start he knew the truth. She's just a teenager with trust issues that wants to be like any other teenager. She wanted to be normal. Of course, she felt that that was a thing she could never be. But she didn't have to hide from him.

Dick didn't want to wake her, but stroked his hand over her cheek lightly. He was very drawn to her and couldn't help himself. She was just so beautiful. Inside and out.

Pam's eyes fluttered open, gazing up at Dick's handsome face.

"I didn't mean to wake you..." he said, his voice below a whisper.

"It's alright. I like the view from here." She joked with a smile. He smirked.

"I believe it's almost dawn."

She looked away and nodded.

"Are you ready for this?"

"No. But I have to try." She replied.

"You know, it's not too late to apologize. You could take it back. I'm okay with your powers. You don't have to be ashamed." He told her.

"You don't understand."

"Oh no, I think I do." He said as she sat up. "I've been getting to know you and all I can say is that your misunderstood. You think you have to do this alone, but you don't have to! I know you want to be normal but I accept you... why can't you accept yourself? You're perfect just the way you are."

"Grayson-"

"You are a teenager! Not everyone is perfect!" He tried to convince her out of this dangerous plan.

"Not everyone can kill people with their kiss either. Not everyone can strangle a person because of a plant in a pot. Grayson, look, you really are wonderful, but I need to do this. Why can't you accept this too?"

"Because I'm scared! Okay?! I'm scared I'm going to loose you! You're just... so great, and funny, and sweet, and beautiful, and I cannot loose you because of my idea. I- I can't..." a tear rolled down his cheek.

She cupped her hands around his face. "We are gonna get though this together. I promise."

"That leads me to another thing. W-what are we exactly?" He asked.

She hesitated and answered, "look. I feel things when I'm with you. I never used to with anyone. But... I just... I don't know. I guess it's for another time." Dick nodded, taking in her answer. "I guess I'm just not good with the whole, 'feelings' thing." She shrugged.

He just took her hand in his.

They were soon interrupted by Dr.Starkly. He came with Officer Pete in a hurry.

"It's almost dawn. We should get ready. I'll get the laser." He told us as he ran off to get it.

Dick looked straight into Pam's eyes. "I need you to know how I feel."
