"Oh my God, no!"

When Robin pulled into the abandoned carnival, he realized just how old it was. Everything was in ruins and rubble. All dusty and broken down. The night sky was lit in a dark purple color. Before, when they were driving, they could hear people following them. Now, they only had a certain amount of time. No one would find them here, but Robin was concerned that Batman would find out where he was. Right now, his time was devoted to Pam. However, officer Pete still followed them to keep them safe, and had brought a doctor with him. Some sort of scientist  that he thought could help.  Robin and Poison Ivy got out of the truck.

"I-i hid it in the carousel." Robin nodded. "Look, I know it's risky, but I feel that we can do this. I've never been more sure of myself."

"That's good. You should trust yourself to do the right thing." Robin replied. Just then, Officer Pete came with his friend.

"I am Dr. Starkly. I'm here to help you." The middle aged man with silver, square glasses, told the two.

Poison Ivy proceeded to the carousel. They had to climb over broken boards and broken glass. She walked over to the center of the broken-down ride and looked into one of the mirrors. She stared at her fire-like hair, her full, peachy lips, and her worn expression. She was tired of running. Behind her reflection stood a handsome, masked boy. With a black and red suit showing off his powerfully built body, a black mask with blue eyes shining though, soft skin, and soft, ruffled, brown hair styled with ease. He was perfect. Ivy couldn't hurt him too.

Poison Ivy then punched the old glass so hard it shattered, falling to her feet in little pieces.

Behind the mirror was a certain nook. Inside was a beautiful, emerald and diamond necklace. It was the biggest and most expensive necklace you would ever see in your entire life. Ivy picked it up carefully to show the others.

"I stole this." She let out a short laugh.

"Wow." Said Robin.

Ivy sighed, "Yeah, I know." Snapping back to reality she asked, "Dr. Starkly, what do I have to do? We don't have much time."

The doctor came forward. "Well you see, at a certain time, light will shine on this beautiful jewel and reveal it's true power. It's been locked behind that mirror for too long. It's powers should, how would you put it, come out of hiding. Once the light is shone onto it, I will get my laser and magnify the jewel into tiny shards to make sure it doesn't kill you. For now, we have to find a place to hide until the sun comes out."

"Wow, Wow, Wow, slow down. It can kill you?" Robin asked Ivy.

"I mean, I guess it could if it has enough power..."

"You haven't done enough research on this thing to know if it can kill you?!"

"Uh... it should work with the laser thingy."

"Oh my God, no!"

"Listen to me, it's not your decision. It's mine." Ivy said sharply.

Dr.Starkly clapped his hands together and said, "well we better find a place to stay in the carnival so we can be ready." Then he and Officer Pete went to the tilta whirl to sleep until dawn. Poison Ivy and Robin stayed at the carousel in one of the benches that weren't broken.

After some silence, Dick took off his mask and asked her, "why did you hide it here?"

"Ever since I was a kid, I came here with my mother. We would always go on the carousel and ride the prettiest horses. Not too long ago I got my powers and my parents shut me out. They moved, actually. Didn't want to get to know me or try to understand why I was doing the things I was doing. After they moved I never went to this carnival ever again. And I never went on the prettiest horse." She let the words sink in before she told the rest. "A while back when I was robbing someone, I found out a fire broke out here. It was all I had left from my childhood, my humanity. I realized I had to go back and fix it. So I had heard about the jewel going to an auction and decided I would steal it. You see, I was just a nerdy little girl that loved games and rides with her mother. Then I became this and everything seemed to burn to the ashes.

"I poisoned all of those people to get the jewel. When I finally got it, I wanted to hide it until I knew how to use it. I came here and sealed the necklace in the back of a mirror. That jewel in that necklace was going to help me. It was going to help me go back to peace. To a simple life where I could be normal again. Now it's all gone. And I have no idea what I'm doing..." she finished and started to cry. She put the necklace down in front of her, shaking.

"Pam... Pam, listen to me. It's going to be okay."

"My mother used to say that to me..." she cried some more.

"Hey, hey you know what?" He asked her in a caring way. "We've been kept away from each other for months. By bars we couldn't open." She nodded. "I'm here now." He said, pulling her into a hug. He rapped his arm around her shoulder while the other hand held hers. His chin placed on her head ever so slightly. His thumb just rubbed her hand. Neither of them had ever felt this close to someone.

Deep down, Dick had a fear of losing this girl he held close. Deep down, Pam wasn't sure this was going to work. She didn't want to hurt him. Even after all the hurt she had caused others. Fear was closing in on them quickly from all directions.
