It was around three in the morning when Miller noticed trees beginning to bleed between the shiny Capital buildings. One minute the only vegetation that could be seen were the fake lawns, and the next were trees over five stories high. That's something Miller really loved about District Seven: the only things not built by the hands of the residents themselves were the Capital issued Mills, and the Victor's Village. But even those houses were constructed with precise input from the District.

Seven was brave, something of which his sister was more than proud of. The most dauntless person he knows. 𝘒𝘯𝘦𝘸. She said, despite being close to the Capital, District Seven was a world within itself. Rose is never wrong. 𝘞𝘢𝘴 never wrong.

After a day or two of not sleeping, his mind kept drifting between erratic, fleeting thoughts, and brief moments of unconsciousness. But Miller would rather battle the restlessness of his mind than to black out and face the night terrors of his conscience. The victor knew that if he wasn't going to sleep, then he should go eat breakfast, and that staying here curled up with his human sized blanket wasn't going to help.

He looked down at his lap full of Finnick and felt the corner of his lip twitch. He reached down and continuously poked the younger's cheek.

"Finn, get up. I have to pee," he lied. There was no point in waking him up this early. Besides, the blond needed all the sleep he could get. The only response was Finnick moving to seize Miller's midsection.

"No," Finnick drew out, "stay with me." His voice was slurred and it was clear he wasn't fully awake. And maybe it was how comfortable he was, but somehow, in his sleep deprived brain, this was very tempting. However, no matter how alluring Finnick's morning voice was, the brown-eyed man knew that he would wake up in two hours max from a disturbing nightmare. Might as well take out the middleman.

His hands followed the length of the arms attached to him until they reached Finnick's lax grip and pulled them off.

"Don't worry. I won't be going far." The older of the two laughed at how clingy Finnick was when when he was tired, but to be fair, Finnick was clingy regardless. Not that Miller was complaining. It wasn't like he had much room to talk.

His feet dragged behind him as he made his way to the eating compartment. One of the two female Avox held her hand up in a passive blocking motion, stopping Miller from going into the dinning area until it was fully set up. He could see more of them out of the corner of his eye, bustling around to bring in more food. He followed her silent directions and leaned against the wall behind him.

The tall male felt bad for rushing them. They probably didn't expect him to be awake this early. Why were they awake this early? He wondered what time they woke up. Were they even allowed to sleep? Of course they were allowed to sleep! Snow wasn't that cruel.
