The past four months have been a little rocky. Vinny's recovered fine from his "accidental" overdose. He said it was accidental but we all know it was intentional. I just ignored it since I didn't want a huge argument. A few nights after his incident we sent him over to Vito's to see if he could straighten him out. It seemed to work for a few days, but then once he started school up again he freaked out and started again. Sonny and I pretend like we don't know. Honestly there isn't much we can do. He won't listen and there's no use of saying anymore. Sonny and I go on date nights every other weekend and it's been so wonderful. It's like when we were younger. Before we had all the kids to worry about. When we only had two it was easier to hand them off to someone, but now that we've got six we have a hard time since none of them want us to leave. It's good for us to get out and have proper alone time since they don't leave us alone anymore. We're growing older as the days go on. Our Marble is sixteen and Rafi just turned eight. This year also brings some fun for the older two and I. Freddie said they were doing this huge concert in July around my birthday, so we were going to go to it. He hasn't really said much more about it, but I was excited. This year also brings a bit of sadness to our hearts. This August it'll be seventeen years since Em's been gone and the big twenty since mama's been gone. It honestly hasn't seemed like it's been this long. Everyday that Little Sonny grows she looks like her mother. It's like she's a spitting image of the girl who once was by my side every day. I miss her like it was yesterday, and sometimes I wake up wishing this was all just a dream. I really do.
It wasn't the greatest of winters. It was very frigid. The kids hate the weather as much as I do. Dad hates it because Connie insists they keep the heat on instead of the air conditioning. Yes, my father still keeps it on in the winter time. He's not the one for heat as we all know. He sometimes comes over here since we've got a cooler house. Freddie's been home for a while now. He said they weren't touring til the big concert. So he was home all the time now. He and Junior both enjoy that. Junior hated being with his mother back in October. Said she never even paid attention to him once. So that was a bad experience for him. I could understand why. Freddie later told me she was so coked up she couldn't even focus on anything he had said. Poor Junior sat there watching his mother coked up and almost passing out. So I could really see why he didn't enjoy his visit to the rocky state of Colorado.
Today I was home with Freddie. The kids were back to school now since Christmas holidays were over. Sonny and Tom had something "important" to do. They were probably out fucking somewhere in the car. Even if it was this cold. Sonny has become more adventurous. So taking Tom out to do such things in the car hasn't surprised me. I didn't mind. As long as they weren't caught. That was all I was concerned about. Freddie and I were down in the living room when my phone rang. He looked over to me. "I can get it if you want." "Might as well. It's probably one of the kids anyways." He nodded. I listened in as he answered. "Hello, Corleone residence. Freddie speaking." He rolled his eyes as he looked over. He motioned for me to come over. "She's busy right now. What's going on?" He let me listen in as well. I heard Mrs. Nally on the other line. "Well, her daughter has had a bad allergy attack. I would prefer if she weren't busy. So where is she?" He sighed. "Which daughter? Caroline?" She answered him. It was her. He handed the phone to me. "Hello? Sorry I was a tad busy. Is everything okay?" "No Mrs. Corleone. Your daughter had a bad allergy attack. She's not doing so well. I'd prefer if you come pick her up. She's soiled herself and is throwing up." I was confused. "How come there were peanuts nearby? You guys know she's deathly allergic to peanuts and tree nuts. I will come pick her up don't worry. Just answer my question first." She sighed. "There's a new kid. They didn't know. We didn't think it was that serious. He just had a sandwich that's all." I was about to go down there and beat her. "Mrs. Nally, we've told you the severity. Caroline is deathly allergic. That means it could kill her. Even the smell of it makes her go off. So please inform whoever not to do that again. We're on our way." "Alright Mrs. Corleone we'll make sure of it. Please hurry. She's sick." "We will." I then hung up. "Let's go since some idiot doesn't know how to not eat peanut butter." Freddie sighed.
