The Queens

The boy who came out of the blue Mazda (remember him?), strolled on past me, his green eyes radiating, his brunette bangs perfectly gelled.

Wait, was I drooling?

Harriet stared at me, then stared at him, then stared at me again.

"You like him, eh?" She said nudging me playfully.

"What? No way,"

She wiggled her eyebrows which made me laugh. I glanced back at him, and then realised that he wasn't walking alone.

Why was there a barbie doll clinging to his arm and giggling flirtatiously?

As if reading my mind, Harriet said:

"Ugh, Vanessa Rose, school Queen Bee, dream crusher and real life Regina George. She is as attracted to Carson as a moth is to a lightbulb," said Harriet, rolling her eyes.

Vanessa had large, royal blue eyes that could hypnotise a hypnotist. Her blonde fake curls twirled down her back, ending at her waist. She had on black Louis Vuitton boots and wore dangly gold hoop earrings.

She was a barbie doll covered in designer.

By looking at Carson's face (aside from admiring it...I mean...what?), he looked mildly uncomfortable. I felt bad for the guy. I sure wouldn't want a barbie doll squeezing my arm and fluttering her fake eye lashes at me like a butterfly on drugs.

Carson walked away, with Vanessa still holding onto him, giggling like a hyena. I also saw two other barbie - like girls following the couple.

I sighed.

"Girl, did you hear what I just said? Hello....?" Said Harriet waving her hand in front of my face.

"Oh, sorry Harri, what did you say?"

"I said, you need to be careful of the Queens,"

"The who?"

Harriet shook her head, palm to face.

"The Queens consist of Vanessa, Charlotte and Cindy. Charlotte and Cindy are twins. Charlotte is basically Vanessa's puppy dog, she may as well build a statue of her and start worshipping her. Cindy tags along because she wants to be around her twin sister...and Vanessa enjoys having Cindy make a fool of herself. These three girls are a force to be reckoned with. They can crush your reputation in the palm of their hands. Everybody loves Vanessa, everyone wants to be around her and everyone wants to be her. When she fell for Carson, she offered money and popularity to him - he was scared of her, he didn't want her to be mad with him so he became her boyfriend,"

My heart strings were pulled. Although, why should I care? I shouldn't crush on Carson, I don't even know his true personality.

Nodding in agreement at what Harriet said, I jumped, startled, as the bell rang.

"Shaz, don't slam the car door," Said my dad, shaking his head disapprovingly.

"Oops...sorry,"

The first day of school was over and I saw already given maths, science and history homework.

Ugh, why?

"Hey there,"

I looked around until my jaw dropped...
