Today was your fifth anniversary with your husband. You even called in the morning to make sure he's coming home. Jimin works as a police officer, approximately forty minutes away from the house. At first you lived a couple of streets away from the station but after Jimin drove back from a mission, he spotted a beautiful house. Now that's where you live.
It was now eleven-thirty. Jimin had promised to come home by five but he still hasn't showed up. The food you prepared was already cold. You had spent almost three hours cooking and only one part of the food was touched.
You continue to sit at the kitchen table, growing impatient. He had promised but he's still not home and that was slowly upsetting you. Jimin always broke his promises and you brushed it off but you couldn't this time.
Even the candles were melted and no longer held their original scent. You sigh and stand up. You put the food away into the containers and leave a portion with napkins over it for Jimin. That is, if he bothers to come home tonight.
Making sure everything is cleaned, you turn the lights off and head to the room. You then change into a set of comfy clothes after removing the dress and make up. Faint footsteps can be heard and when you look down, you see your puppy standing there. You pick the puppy up and hold it close to you.
"At least you're here for me, right?" You mumble, eyes slightly getting teary. The pup looks at you and slightly barks. You chuckle and lay down on the bed, the pup curling by you. You reach for the control before turning on the television.
A movie was playing but you were too distracted to pay any attention. "He's not coming home today. . ." you say to yourself. The pup whimpers and moves closer. Tears begin to trickle down your face as you quietly sob.
You wished he would show up and keep his promise but it was like any other. Broken. You cried yourself to sleep, the door closed and locked so if your husband came home, he wouldn't disturb you.

It was morning and you could feel the puffiness of your eyes. Your cheeks stained with dried tears. Your body felt weak after all the crying so you decided to stay in bed.
The chilly air hits your body and makes you shiver. You reach over and wrap your body in the covers, slowly falling back asleep. However a soft knock interrupts you. You groan and get up, dragging yourself to the door. When you open it, Jimin is standing there in his police uniform.
His clothes were wrinkled, hair all over the place, bags evident under his eyes but the moment he sees you his expression brightens. His eyes turn into small crescents and his smile was wide enough to expose his pearly white teeth.
"Jagi." That's the only word that leaves his lips before you close the door on him. You return to the bed and curl up.
He has the audacity to smile when he misses such an important date. The knocking comes back along with the jiggle of the knob. You ignore his pleas and decide to wash up. When you finish, you sit on the bed and watch the television with a blank expression.
"Jagi, please open up. I'm sorry," his voice was raspy but loud enough for you to hear. You sigh and close your eyes, hoping he wouldn't speak anymore till you calm down. Your pup woke up and jumped off the bed before scratching at the door.
You knew they wanted to get out but with Jimin there, you thought it wasn't the best idea. The scratches become harsh as the time passes so you had no choice but to open the door to let the puppy out. The moment they run out, Jimin steps in before you could close the door on him again.
