Jin whistles as his eyes scan the information on the textbook. One hand is propped to support his chin and the other lazily clutches the sheets from the book. When his eyes reach the last word, he halts and sighs.

"What's wrong?" Y/n asks, taking a seat next to him. Jin jumps and almost knocks the hat on his head off but he desperately grabs onto it. She chuckles. "I didn't mean to scare you."

Jin smiles and shakes his head. "Do you understand this?" He pulls the textbook for her to see. She pouts and scans the page before looking at Jin with an apologetic look. "Not at all." Jin can't help but snort at the response before he closes the textbook.

"I don't understand why he's making us do this when we're on 'break'." he emphasizes and shakes his head. Y/n nods and says, "well, if we finish this fast enough, we can spend halloween without having to worry about it."

The mention of the holiday made Jin stiffen in his seat. He had to tell her that he wasn't going to be able to spend the day with her and he felt bad, but it was for her own good.

"About that. . . I won't be able to spend the day with you." He looks at her with guilt. Y/n's smile falters but she manages to make it look natural when she shakes her head. "No. I understand, Jin."

It wasn't the first time he had refused to spend halloween with her. Rather, it's been that way since they've been dating for the past three years. She knew how much he hated the holiday (for unknown reasons). Every year that she wanted to do something, he would have something else to do.

Even so, Jin still wanted her to have fun on the spooky day. "What did you have planned for the day?" He softly asks, twiddling with the nearby pencil he spotted. Y/n pulls out her phone and shows him an image.

"I was looking for something and these halloween cookies appeared. I thought it'd be nice to make some." Indeed, the cookies she was showing were rather cute. Jin sadly smiles and ruffles her hair, "I'm sorry I can't be there with you. I have something going on."

When Y/n takes notice of his gloomy look, she can't help but boop his nose. However, when she does, he becomes startled and jumps back, knocking himself down with the chair. Jin hisses, slightly raising his hips and slips a hand under his hoodie.

"Stupid tail," he mumbles. It's not loud enough for Y/n to clearly hear but she brushes it off when she sees the pain in his face. "Are you okay?! I didn't think that would happen!" She frantically says, helping him up and scanning his body from head to toe.

Jin winces but manages to smile and wave a hand at her. "It's okay. You know how clumsy I can be at times." Y/n can't help but stare at him in worry but she eventually gives in.

"Excuse me, the library will be closing soon." An elder passes by and informs the couple. Y/n and Jin nod, watching the elder walk away to inform the other people.

Jin glances at his watch. It was seven-fifty. "Let's make a quick stop at the market. We can cook and watch a movie. All this studying and research is making my head hurt." Y/n agrees and packs up the stuff.

The moment they step out, Jin holds Y/n's hand and leads them to the nearby mart. As they approach the mart, Y/n can't help but ask him something that was on her mind.

"Hey, Jin?" He hums and turns to look at her. She tilts her head to the side and asks, "did you say tail earlier?" Jin tries not to panic and nonchalantly responds.
