Chapter 38

Carmen's Pov

Isco and Marco went out with some of the guys to just have fun and talk. I was at home,on the couch watching tv. Before Isco left,he almost took me with him. He didn't want to leave me at home all by myself because the baby would be coming soon.

I wasn't in the mood to go out anywhere so i told him no. After a long argument and i mean very long,he finally agreed to go with Asensio but not before calling Fabiola to come stay with me.

Unfortunately, Fabiola was at work the time he called but she promised as soon as she was done,she would drive straight to my home. I decided to dim the lights and brought out snacks beginning to eat it hungrily. "I guess it's just you and me,baby." i spoke to my stomach and rubbed it softly.

After plopping myself on the couch and putting the snacks and drink beside me,i finally switched on the tv and began to watch a serie i hadn't watched in a very long time!

Riiing!

"Hello..." i picked it up after seeing it was Fabiola. My phone was always to be beside me.

"Hey,i would be there in a few hours,some things came up and i just want to quickly finish it up. Hope you don't mind,honey?"

I sighed. I didn't want to be left alone for so long. "It's alright, the baby and i would just hang in here. Love you." i smiled.

"I'm sorry. Love you too!" and then i heard the line drop. I rubbed my belly once again and gave it a light pat. The baby moved a little. "Oooh,someone's eager to come out." i chuckled and continued watching the movie.

The guys were all laughing about one thing or the other. All the players were there. A big rectangular table was in the middle of the room and they sat round it. Isco sitting next to Marco.

The boys were making loud noises and were talking about various things. Sports,how they spent their vacation and even their wives were the topics laid on the table.

There were varieties of food on the table and everyone had a plate in front of them with water and other drinks.

Isco left the table and walked out. He took out his phone and dialled his wife's number. She picked at the first ring.

"Hello sweetheart!" her voice gave him so much joy.

"Hello baby. How are you doing?" he rested his back against a car that was parked which seemed to be Marcelo's.

"I am fine. Just watching that serie i told you about and eating something. And you,how's the outing with the guys going?"

"You know how the guys are. It's all laughs and jokes here. I would come home very soon. I don't feel at ease leaving you all by yourself.  Is Fabi there yet?"

"No,she also has somethings to do. I am fine isco. Have fun. Bye." she blew him a kiss at the end of the call.

A sudden rush of wind blew across him raising a lot of dust immediately she ended the call. Isco wondered why that had happened. There were no signs of rain so why? He started coughing and quickly went back inside.

As soon as he got in,he was met with Marco and Lucas Vazquez. "Hey bro,what's up?" Lucas asked. Both looking at him so worried.

"Nothing." Isco scratched his hair and looked at both of them as he coughed once more. Something was definitely wrong,somewhere. But what?

All three walked into the centre and joined their team mates.

Fabiola quickly got the job done. She packed the files and everything on her table and said goodbyes to everyone before quickly rushing down to her car.

On getting to there,she dropped her bag and started it. She reversed in a snap and began driving. Fabiola drove a few miles and then just suddenly,the car stopped out of nowhere.

"What the ...." she muttered to herself and started the car once more. She held on a bit and got down,opening the bonnet of the car. She came down and walked to the front of the car. It was already dark.

Fabiola touched a few things and tried it again but all to no avail. "What is wrong with you?! Ugh! You better start now cause carmen needs me." she stated.

She took her bag and quickly hopped down once again and flagged a cab. Picking out her phone to call Carmen,she saw her battery was low. "Just what i get ah!"

The cab started moving.

The snacks carmen had with her had finished. So since she still wanted more and the movie was nowhere near ending,she got up and moved into the kitchen.

On getting there,she strolled to the fridge to get ice cream. She opened it and bent a little with a stretched arm to get the big bowl.

"I'm finishing you today." she said to the ice cream bowl. Carmen picked a spoon and went back to the living room.

As she made her way there,she felt a sharp pain in her lower abdomen. "Oww." She touched the part which ached her. "Baby whats wrong? Stay in there for me,at least till papa comes."

Carmen moved a few steps once again and the pain came sharper than ever. "Ouchhh!" she held it and the bowl fell from her hand. She gently went down to the tiled floor and stayed there for a bit before the pain became surpressed.

She managed to get to her cellphone and called Isco but received no response. She tried several times. "Isco pleasee." She tried Fabi's number but it said switched off.

Carmen was becoming weaker by the second and mins later,boom,her water broke.

She didn't know when she fell dizzy and her body slipped onto the cold floor as she ell unconscious.
