A Monster in Mans Clothing

Drew

          As I stared out the window I thought about my life. I had never really been the one to have crush or have others have crushes on me. It had never bothered me like everything else it was part of the norm. In terms of friends I didn't do too bad in that every school year I would have at least two or three friends. Drew was even the first person I had reacted to in such a way.

             "Hey, what happened to you guys?" Drew said walking up to me. I think about it for a second, he would think I was crazy if I told him. But maybe if everyone conforms the story he might believe it. " This is going to sound crazy, but we were chased down by a Mesopotamian demon." I said sighing. "Really, how did you guys get away?" He said his voice filling with interest." Wait you believe me?" I asked surprised. "Sure, you haven't given me any reason not to." He said sitting down beside me.

            This guy is so nice, why cant everyone be like him. Probably because everyone else sucks at it. Anyway if everyone was nice then it would hold no value I guess. "We hid until we got to our van and drove, leaving him in the dust." I said putting my head between my legs. "Wow must have been a sucky demon." He said obviously trying to cheer me up.

      It helped, a little bit at least but I have feeling if I had just kept to my self my friends wouldn't have gotten dragged into this. "Guys i'm so sorry that I got you dragged into this, you could have gotten killed." I said feeling the tears roll down my cheek. "Hey we said that we would help you, didn't we?" Nina said wiping my tears away. "Besides you could have died if we weren't there. " Added Jeff finishing bandaging Toby. " And would that have been such a horrible thing?" I ask looking back down. "Of course it is, you're obviously a nice person, with those running short lately we need as many as we can get." Drew said putting his hand on my shoulder. " I know what you're feeling right now, but you have to remember the ones around you care for you, even if its one person." He said drawing me into him. I sat there and cried, I didn't know what else to do.

           (3 minutes later) I had so many amazing people around me and I took it for granted. "I'm sorry guys, guess they broke me again. " I said my drying my tears. "It's fine as long as you can get back up from it. "Drew said offering his hand. I took it and he helped me up. "Thank you." I said giving him a hug. Then realizing what I was doing I pulled away quickly blushing. " Sorry!" I said trying not to show my face. " It's fine." he said clearly doing the same.

            "Okay you two, we should get going." Said Jane walking out of the building." Hey if you ever want to talk" Drew said handing me his phone number. "Thank you, I'll make sure I do when I get back." I said walking out the door with Nina. "So even in the chaos you can even get a boyfriend." Nina said bumping my shoulder. "What are you talking he's not my boyfriend, he's just someone who wants to help." I said turning my back to her. "Okay you can what you want, but you two are into each other." She said walking away. As the sun stared coming up I thought to my self, could he really like me?
