~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Ringgggg...
The bell had just rung and I got up and headed towards my locker. As I finished at my locker I headed down the hallway towards the cafeteria. Just as I almost got there I saw Four come out of a classroom. I turned on my heels heading back the way I came deciding to make a detour to the washroom.
Ever since yesterday when he said he thought I was hiding something and he would find out, I have been avoiding him and I'm pretty sure he knows it too because this morning when we saw each other in the hall I practically ran into my class before he could get to me. I know it may seem like I'm overreacting but if he ever found out what happened to me, I don't know how he would react and I don't want to take any chances.
I waited about 10 minutes just in case he did see me and was waiting for me. I peeked my head out and saw that no one was in the hallway, so I walked out and towards the cafeteria. As I picked up an apple and a bottle of water not feeling really hungry I walked out the double doors leading outside where I usually meet my friends.
When I walked out I immediately saw my friends sitting at our usual table and began to walk over to them. I glanced at Four and relaxed when I saw him talking to one of his friends.
"Hey" I said calmly as I sat down in my usual seat.
"Hey" they said at the same time.
"What took you so long?" Christina asks as she pops a few chips in her mouth.
"I had to ask my teacher a question" I said but I knew they didn't buy it by the way my voice faltered towards the end.
"For 10 minutes? Now where have you really been?" Shauna asks staring me down.
"I was in the washroom, waiting, so Four wouldn't see me" I mumble scratching my head.
"Why?" Marlene asks.
"I just don't want to get too close to him. I already have to see him everyday in fitness and detention, I don't need to see him during the day. I was just avoiding him." I say, not completely lying.
"Is that why he's staring at you right now?" Shauna asks.
I peeked my head to the left and saw that he was staring at me. He raised his eyebrows at me, smirking, and then went back to talking with his friends.
"Uhm, I'll see you guys later" I said while getting up from my seat and heading back inside, before they could respond.
I couldn't sit there anymore because I knew they would eventually find out I was hiding something so I had to leave. I wondered the halls for a bit until I heard the lunch bell signalling the end of lunch. I walked to my locker and grabbed my books and headed to my class.
I was doing a pretty good job of avoiding Four all day and it was now gym class. I got changed and walked out of the change room with Marlene. She had transferred into this class because she dropped a course and some things got moved around on her timetable. The teacher said he had some work to get done today so he told us we could do anything we wanted. Marlene and I decided to play volleyball, so we went and got a ball from the garage.
"What's up guys?" Uriah said as he put his arms over both our shoulders.
"None of your damn business" Marlene exclaimed as she pushed Uriah away from us.
"Hey, what did I do?" he asked spreading his arms.
They started a small argument and I just watched. If these two could get along they would definitely make a cute couple. I guess I was zoned out because the next thing I know, Four has his arm around my shoulders.
