Chapter 18

“Raiden!” Shiori screamed his name in horror. She watched as his head turned to face her. He gave her a demonic smile that revealed fangs. She gasped as she realised that Satan had possessed him.

Onigumo laughed as he realised this too. “My Lord, you are finally here!”

Raiden’s lips twisted into a sinister smirk. “Onigumo.” The voice that came out of Raiden’s mouth was definitely not his. It was deeper and really intimidating. The voice sounded ancient yet powerful…really powerful.

Raiden, no Satan, chuckled deeply before looking around. “So this is what earth looks like through mortal eyes” he mused.

Shiori scowled. Like hell she was going to let some power hungry maniac possess her boyfriend! “Hey you!” She marched up to the powerful God and jabbed a finger at his chest, well Raiden’s chest which looked really fine- no, she was getting distracted.

“Get. Out. Of. My .Boyfriend’s. Body. Now!” With each word, she poked her finger sharply into his chest. Her anger only heightened when the freak just smiled in amusement.

“Shiori, what a pleasure to finally meet you in person.” Satan drawled with a smirk on his face.

An involuntary shiver snaked through her body at the slimy tone of his voice when he said her name. Shiori’s eyes narrowed as Satan pointedly stared at her, waiting for her to speak.

“The pleasure is definitely not mine!” She spat out with loathing. “Now, get out of Raiden’s body and go back to whatever hole you crawled out of!”

Satan grinned before wrenching out of the chains that were binding him to the cross. He towered over Shiori and grasped her wrist, effectively stopping her from jabbing him again.

“I’d appreciate it if you stop that Shiori.” He drawled before dropping her wrist. Shiori immediately shook it in disgust. Satan just smirked before looking back at Onigumo.

He eyed Onigumo and raised an eyebrow at his pitiful state. “You look…pathetic. I have no use for weaklings like you.”  He raised his hand in Onigumo’s direction. The wind outside stopped howling and the loose rocks in the ceiling stopped groaning. It was deathly quiet. Satan clicked his fingers.

A crack opened up underneath Onigumo and fire licked the edges. Screams could be heard from inside and the blistering heat washed over them like a wave. “No, wait!” Onigumo screamed desperately but it was too late, the crack widened and he fell inside. His screams echoed off the walls as he fell. The hole instantly sealed itself and sound gradually returned.

The wind started howling again and everything was back to normal. Shiori’s wide eyes gazed at the spot where Onigumo was before she swivelled around to look at Satan.

He lowered his hand and smiled darkly before meeting Shiori’s wide eyes. “Is something wrong?”

Shiori gaped at him. “You just sent him to hell!”

He looked at her in amusement. “Yes, yes I just did.”

Shiori narrowed her eyes before getting in a fighting position. “I’m going to stop you. I won’t let you take over the world and whatever else you plan on doing!”

Satan looked at her mockingly. “And what makes you think you can stop me, little girl?”

Oh he did not just call her a little girl. Shiori bristled in anger and a sharp wind picked up around her. Her eyes were an intense, burning red that showed her barely suppressed rage. Her long, white hair whipped around behind her wildly and her nails and teeth elongated to claws and canines.

Today was the worst day of her life. Her family had been murdered brutally, her friends had been hurt and her boyfriend was being possessed by an egotistical maniac. And to top the cake, said egotistical maniac had just called her a little girl. Oh hell no!

She let out a scream of rage as she lifted her arms upwards and a bright beam of blinding light engulfed her body. The ground shook with the force and rocks crashed to the ground. Satan just stared in shock. He couldn’t even look at Shiori, the light was too pure and blinding. He looked away and lifted his arm to cover his face.

Blisters bubbled along the skin on his arm and he grimaced. The light slowly faded and after a few minutes, everything was silent. Satan cautiously lowered his arm and looked at where Shiori was before.

In her place was a giant wolf. Its fur was a pure, white and it had amethyst purple eyes that burned with wisdom and power.  It was a sight to behold. The wolf snarled before stalking towards Satan. Each step was deliberately meant to ignite fear in him and it did.

This wasn’t just any wolf. This was the legendary wolf of the Namikazes. The last heir blessed by God, with the power of the first Namikaze and the ten most powerful beings in the universe. This...was the royal wolf. This wolf was the most powerful being in the universe, even more powerful than God and himself. Satan looked up at the wolf in awe. This was Shiori’s true form and not even he could beat her.

He lowered his head in submission and defeat before straightening up. “Well done Shiori, you have gained all your powers and you are now the single most powerful being in the whole universe. I am now one of your allies so you can relax.” Shiori shifted back to her half demon form and nodded at Satan.

“ You still have a long way to go before your journey is finished and you still have enemies that you must defeat so let me give you a piece of advice. Trust your instincts and your heart. Don’t let your fear hold you back and protect those you love with your life. You have the forces of heaven and hell behind you and you will make more powerful allies and friends so never stop believing in yourself. Not even for a moment.” Satan gave her a genuine smile.

“I’m sorry for everything. To make it up to you, I will transport you to the Forbidden Mountains.”

Shiori gasped. “I can’t go there! No one has ever made it back which is why it’s called the Forbidden Mountains!”

Satan laughed. “Don’t worry, you will make it back. Look for a cave hidden in diamonds and you will find someone who can bring your loved ones back to life. Proceed with a pure heart and you will see your loved ones again.” He raised his hand.

“Wait!” Shiori shouted desperately. Satan paused. “Can I see what you look like? You are hiding behind Raiden and I don’t know what you actually look like so can you show me?” She looked at him curiously.

Satan smiled before closing his eyes. The blue flames that engulfed Raiden’s body died out and he was gently lowered to the floor. A tall figure materialised next to him.

Shiori gasped as he stepped out of the shadows.
