Chapter 13
Arashi screamed as Onigumo twisted the knife in his stomach. He was in a dark room that was dimly lit by a flickering light. He was chained to the wall and Onigumo was currently torturing him.
Arashi clenched his fists as Onigumo twisted the knife in further.
“Oh, you’re not screaming anymore?” Onigumo smirked. “I’ll change that!”
He yanked the knife out causing Arashi to grunt in pain. With a sadistic smile, Onigumo placed his hand on Arashi’s chest. His hand started glowing green before it disappeared inside Arashi’s chest without breaking the skin. It was like when a ghost puts their hand through someone.
The only difference was that this actually hurts. Onigumo moved his hand a bit to the left and grasped Arashi’s heart. He slowly closed his fist and enjoyed the look of pain on Arashi’s face. He tightened his grip and laughed madly as Arashi coughed up blood.

Shiori’s feet pounded on the roofs of houses as she jumped from one to another. She was closer to the tower. The sun had hidden behind the overhanging, dark clouds. The wind had picked up and everyone else had gone into their houses. A storm was on its way. The grim weather seemed to match the mood.
Shiori skidded to a halt outside the tower. She looked up at the tall, black building. She narrowed her eyes. She stepped towards the door and without warning, kicked it down. Onigumo could pay for the damages…if he was still alive after she was done with him. Wait scratch that, he won’t even be alive.
Shiori straightened her back and walked determinedly into the building.
It was really dark. She was met with a long corridor. She squinted and sighed, she couldn’t even see the end. Suddenly, a scream echoed through the building making the hairs on the back of her neck rise.
Shiori froze as she recognised the scream. It was Itachi’s, one of her younger brothers! Shiori ran in the direction of the scream. It led her deeper into the dark corridor. She felt like she had been running for hours but in reality it was only a couple of minutes. Itachi screamed again. What was that freak doing to her brother?
With an extra burst of speed, Shiori came into a hall. It was really big but empty. There were grey, stone walls, a marble floor and giant stained glass windows on either side of the hall. There were numerous doors that led to different places in the building. Itachi’s scream had been abruptly cut short which worried Shiori. It was horrible to hear him scream but it was worse when everything was silent. At least before she knew he was alive.
Shiori frantically looked at each of the doors and counted them. There were five doors. She shook her head before running to the closest door which was on her left. She had no time to waste. She slammed the door open and ran into the room. It was pitch black.
Shiori pricked her ears, it was silent. She waited for her eyes to adjust and just managed to make out the dark figures on the floor. Shiori cautiously made her way over. She stayed close to the wall and was surprised when she felt a light switch under her palm that was on the wall. Without a second thought, she switched the light on…and gasped in horror.
The room was quite small and had no windows. Her siblings were slumped down and chained to the wall. They were covered in blood and they were all…dead. Her father was sprawled on the floor with a gaping hole through his stomach and he was also dead. Her mother was slumped next to him, dead.
Shiori looked around in horror before tears started to form in her eyes. No, this couldn’t be happening! Shiori knelt next to her parents bodies and started sobbing. She shook her mother’s shoulder gently. “Mum, wake up! Don’t leave me…please!” Shiori moved onto her father. He was stone cold.
She withdrew her trembling hand and covered her mouth. They were dead. Her mother, father, Arashi and all her other siblings, they were all dead! She fell to the floor and curled into a ball, sobbing.
Shiori’s ears twitched as they caught laboured breathing. Someone was still alive! She immediately unfurled and looked around.
It was Mamoru! She jumped to her feet and ran to his side. He was at the back of the room which was probably why she didn’t notice him.
“Mamoru, you’re alive!” Shiori breathed in relief. Mamoru pried his eyes open and glanced at her. He opened his mouth to talk but coughed causing blood to pour out of his mouth. Shiori gently placed his head on her lap and shushed him. “Don’t try to talk!”
Mamoru ignored her and struggled to raise his head to look at her. She hurriedly helped him and winced as the movement caused his clotted wounds to open up again. “Shiori…y-you need to f-find Itachi, Onigumo h-has him.” Mamoru grasped Shiori’s face with a trembling hand. “I-I love you little sister.” His eyes closed as his breathing stopped. His hand fell from her face to the floor and his head dropped back onto her lap.
Tears trailed down Shiori’s face. “Mamoru!” She screamed in anguish. Only silence met her ears. He was dead. Shiori touched her cheek where Mamoru’s hand had been just seconds before. It was still warm…
----
Onigumo smirked as he heard Shiori’s anguished cries. She was here. He glanced at Raiden who was in the middle of the pit, tied to a cross. His hands were stretched out and bound to the metal cross by chains that wrapped around his body. He started struggling as he heard Shiori’s voice. “Shiori!”
Onigumo shook his head at Raiden. “Wait for your turn boy. She’ll be here soon…let her mourn for her dead family!” Onigumo cackled as Raiden glared at him.
----
Shiori placed her brother on the floor gently and stood up. She needed to find Itachi, he might still be alive. She walked to the door and took one last glance at her dead family. She felt tears prick at her eyes but she blinked them away. She quickly turned and walked out of the room, shutting the door softly behind her.
She was back in the hall. The wind howled outside as the rain pattered on the stained glass windows on opposite sides of the hall. Shiori walked to the door next to the room she just came out of. She hesitated as her hand rested on the handle. What was she going to find inside? She gulped and wrenched the door open.
