Chapter 2: Old Feelings

It was the next day and team 7 was getting ready to head to their mission. Sakura, Naruto and you were waiting by the gates of Konoha as Kakashi was late as always. Sakura and Naruto were standing next to each other as (y/n) was hanging on the other side of the door cleaning her kunai weapons. Sakura looks at Naruto as he does the same and she leans next to him and whispers -"Does her attitude look familiar to you?"

Naruto looks at you closely as he nods and adds "She makes me think that we are dealing with Sasuke, but the female version of him." Sakura gazes onto the sky and smiles gently "It feels like old times." After she whispered those words to Naruto, Kakashi poofs out of nowhere as he greets the young ninjas.
"Kakashi sensei, you are late," you say as Kakashi places his hand on the back of his head chuckling as a moment later his expression turns serious. "Ok guys! We are sent on a mission to protect one of the heiresses to the throne in one of the provinces located outside of the Rain Village. We are going to head to her hideout and start the journey to take her to the Kazekage of the sand, Gaara. They will take it from there and secure her." With that, the ninjas nod and start heading away from Konoha into the woods.

On the other side, Lady Tsunade and Shizune were taking care of paperwork as they come across your file. Tsunade looks at Shizune as she is working on paperwork alongside with her pig and says: -" Shizune, did we ever figure out who (y/n) really is? " Shizune looks at her file "She is the daughter of one of the fallen ninja of the Hoshikage village. Her parents died after training due to internal damage." Tsunade puts her file down as she kind of sobs " The Hoshikage village. Did we send team Guy there months ago right? That village is cursed, I am just hoping nothing happens to (y/n) while she is in the mission." Shizune approaches Tsunade as she is holding the pig, " Lady Tsunade, you know that she is eventually not gonna be able to go on missions whatsoever and then she has all the health problems she needs to deal with." Tsunade nods:- "We will find a way to help her live longer than her fellow villagers." While Tsunade and Shizune are talking with each other Ino happens to be outside of the Hokage's door and hears everything as she then decides to run toward the exit of the building. Ino rushes outside as she accidentally bumps into Hinata and Kiba. "Ino watch where you go!" Kiba says as Akamaro barks while Ino disregarded Kiba in general and flees the screen continuing to run. Kiba and Hinata were a little confused as Kiba than yells at her loudly " Hey show some respect Ino!!!!!!!"

Ino finally reaches her destination as she is barely breathing as Neji was with Shikamaru eating dinner at a steakhouse. She sits next to Neji and begins being her self. " Shikamaru did you guys know that we have a ninja from the village formed out of the stars?'" Neji looks at Shikamaru as he nods "Yes, Lady Tsunade announced it to Yamato sensei and he communicated it with me and Kakashi senpai before team seven went on a mission." Neji than adds:- "I have been on a mission before in this village as we encountered the ninjas that live there as it was terrifying. I have heard that they have health problems due to a training they go using a star generated chakra. It is a powerful chakra and ninjas from the village usually die pretty young." Ino feels a little shocked as she tells the guys what she heard when Tsunade and Shizune were talking.

On the other side, team seven was on the road to their mission as Sakura and Naruto were awkwardly trying to connect with (y/n) as she was not giving a sign of trying to connect with them two. Kakashi was noticing the teenage ninjas trying to interact as he decides to stop and turns at them catching them off guard.
"what is going on here guys?" Kakashi asks as he is all serious and such. Sakura and Naruto look over at you as Kakashi sighs "Alright guys! It is getting dark and I am not going to have you three traveling at night while not communicating at all. We are a team and as a team I want you all to have interactions with each other."
"But, Kakashi senpai, it is faster if we travel at night," Sakura suggests as Kakashi disagrees and decides to put up a fire and pulls out a sleeping bag from his bag. Eventually Sakura, you and Naruto give up and end up setting up for camping as the three of you still not talking with each other. Kakashi heads to bed a little early as Sakura, Naruto and you are standing by the fire. You end up pulling your book reading as Sakura signals Naruto to talk with you. Naruto eventually approaches you and starts to talk. "Hey, what are you reading?"- he asks as you look over at him for a second responding "The cursed tree". Naruto was not satisfied with the vague answer you gave him as he asks more questions.
"What is it about?" You respond to him vaguely every time as he looks over at Sakura signaling her that it was not going well. Sakura sighs as she mouths the words "Forget it." Naruto decides to leave you alone as he stands up walking toward his sleeping bag. You follow his actions with your eyes and softly smile hiding it behind your book.

The moon rose up high in the sky as you were still reading you book while everyone was sleeping. As you were reading you hear the tree leaves cracking as notice the presence of someone observing you. you get up and decide to go look for the presence leaving the book next to your sleeping bag. Naruto felt your footsteps as he wakes up and looks over his shoulder as you disappear into the dark woods. He gets up and follows you without making a noise as you were concerned about the presence you were trying to locate. The deeper you went into the woods the darker and sketchier it became when you suddenly look over your shoulder and throw your kunai toward that direction. The kunai goes flying fast as it lands next to the tree Naruto was hiding as he freaks out thinking you had spotted him. As he is about to come clear, he notices the shadow of a man walking toward you and decides to remain still. The man hides in the darkness formed by the woods as eventually he comes standing next to you as it appears to be Neji. You greet him smiling as he hands you a box of pills. "You forgot these at my place."- he says while you grab the pills and thank him. With that Neji leaves as you swallow one of the pills putting the rest on your bag. You start walking toward Naruto's direction he gets a little freaked out and decides to bail out when you call his name. Naruto looks behind as you were slowly approaching him looking all serious and mad at some point. "Now you know," you say as you continue walking past him leaving Naruto confused following you.
"What kind of pills were they? Are you okay?" he asks as you stop and look down at the ground, "You ask too many questions Naruto." you say and start walking again. Naruto pouts and runs up t you grabbing you by your arm. " (Y/N) Are you sick?" he asks as you let him hold your arm and nod "I am just taking vitamins to help me recuperate my strength faster." you say as Naruto lets go of your arm while you walk away as he follows you. The two of you arrive at the campsite and you head to your sleeping bag grab the book. Naruto walks toward the cliff and sits in a tree branch looking at the moon and stars as he notices you sitting next to him opening your book.
"i do not like socialising with people in general. I do not trust people, so do not think it is personal." You say as Naruto smiles gently looking up, "You remind me of our old teammate, Sasuke Uchiha. He had the same personality as you, and yet he ended up being my brother." You look at Naruto while he was talking about Sasuke there was a warm expression in his face. You nod and go back to reading your book while Naruto slowly starts snoozing as his head leans on your shoulder.
