THIRD PERSON POV

Jack feels his phone buzz in his back pocket and reads the text from Jack J, 'Are you coming?' Jack hastily replies, "10 mins."

JJ texted Jack G earlier today and told him there was some urgent news he had to tell him. To say the least, JJ was being sketchy as fuck. Jack asked him why he couldn't just tell him over the phone, but JJ would always respond, "Just come."

Jack slips on his vans and puts his hat on backwards. He walks outside in the nice, spring weather and feels a breeze across his cheek. He walks down his front steps and down the road to JJ's house.

Within minutes, Jack arrives at the doorstep of JJ's house and opens the door. They've been best friends since kindergarten, so this behavior is not abnormal.

Jack walks downstairs into the basement and turns left to their usual hangout spot. As Jack turns around the corner, he hears a familiar voice and freezes.

"What did you invite me here for again?" Sam questions.

JJ scratches his head and catches Jack's eye, "Hey! You're here!"

Jack walks over unwillingly to the pair and sits at his usual spot, avoiding any and all eye contact, "What is this, Jack?"

JJ takes a deep breath and says, "You two are my best friends. This sounds really gay, but I hate when all three of us aren't together. You're my brothers, man. Can you guys just talk things out?"

Jack chuckles coldly, "I thought I was done with this weeks ago."

"You guys can't ignore each other forever," JJ replies.

Sam leans forward and puts his hands into a praying position and points it towards Jack. "Look, Jack. I'm sorry, okay?" Sam looks Jack in the eyes. "I-I don't know what else to tell you. It was a fucking huge mistake. I am genuinely sorry. No bullshit."

Jack scoffs and retorts, "You weren't so sorry when you were fucking Leigh."

JJ speaks up, "Don't, Jack."

Jack looks at them both and takes a deep breath, knowing causing another fight would yield no satisfaction.

Jack looks at them both and says, "Look, I miss all three of us hanging out too. What you did just really fucked me up, Sam. We can be cool again," Sam looks relieved. Jack continues, "but I don't trust you at all."

Sam looks at Jack glumly for a moment and looks away. "Fine. I'll gain your trust back, I will," Sam nods his head, more to himself than anyone else.

With that, JJ happily says, "Fuck yes! I have my friends back!" He does some weird dance moves and they all start to laugh, just like before the incident.

Jack and Sam both think of Shay.

Jack glances at Sam, 'There's no way Sam can know about Shay. What if he pulls the same shit he did with Leigh?'

'I can't let Jack know about Shay. What if he tries to get even with me and steals Shay away?' Sam thinks to himself.

SHAY'S POV

I've had a productive Sunday morning. I went on a run, took a bath, caught up with my friends in Florida, and made the most delicious breakfast ever. Captain Crunch cereal with 1% milk. :)

Since then, I've been watching Netflix and drinking a shitload of coffee. My thoughts are running marathons and I think about Sam and Jack. Does Sam like me? Does Jack? Or is it nothing? Are they friends with each other? I think about Sam's long eyelashes and precious smile; I think about Jack's toned body and his perfect teeth; I think about laying in bed lazily, cuddling with Sam; I think about Jack's kitchen and the steamy make out session we shared.

I push these thoughts to the back of my head as I read a text from Jack, "Are you free?" I reply, "Yes." I feel butterflies in my stomach form and I impatiently wait for his text back.

Five minutes later, I hear the doorbell ring and I run to answer it. I peer out the window and see Jack standing at my doorstep with his hands in his pockets and his hood over his head.

I open the door and say, "Hi. This was unexpected."

"What can I say? I'm spontaneous." He smiles at me and looks around. "So, are you gonna give me a tour of this place or what?"

Slightly taken aback, I nod my head and say, "Right this way." I walk him around my kitchen, living room, dining room, bathrooms, basement, parents' room, Daisy's room, and finally, my room.

"Welcome to my humble abode." I flick a switch and a stream of white Christmas lights brightens up the room.

"Fancy." Jack says, before taking a seat on my bed. I sit down next to him and turn on the TV to a random channel.

He turns to me and I look back at him. I raise my eyebrow and he doesn't respond. Jack continues to stare and I finally ask, "Jack, what are you look--"

He interrupts me by smashing his lips into mine. We fall back onto the bed so that we're laying down. Never breaking our kiss, I roll on top of him. I straddle him and grind my hips into his crotch. Jack lets out a small moan and I can feel him harden underneath me. I continue to grind against Jack and kiss him hungrily, making up for every second we missed the day before at Charm City.

I want Jack. I want to touch him everywhere and I want him to touch me. He takes his shirt off and I lean against his abs. I continue to kiss his lips and nibble on his ear. I grind against him harder and give him a large hickey on the left of his neck. He lets out a quiet moan and I remember Katie's words.

I have to be careful. I unwillingly pull away from Jack and get off his lap. He pulls himself up into a sitting position and looks at me confused, "What's wrong?"

I look at him and cross my arms innocently, "Nothing's wrong."

Jack walks over and holds me by the waist, "Then why did you get up and leave?"

I look up at him, arms still crossed, and say, "I want you, Jack. I do. But I..I don't want you to hurt me."

He lets go of my waist and sits back down on my bed. He looks up at me in the dim lighting and says, "So you've heard the rumors?"

I nod my head at him slowly. He sighs and says, "I just got out of long term relationship a few months ago. It was a terrible break up, I still can't look at her the same. After we broke up, I had a little sex frenzy. I would hook up with random girls just to spite her. I earned a reputation as a hit-it-and-quit-it kinda guy pretty fast." I give him a look that said, 'what do you expect me to say.' He continues, "None of it was worth it though. By the end of every time, I was so shit faced drunk, I couldn't even remember the girl's name and I just felt more alone than before."

"Sounds like you really liked her then." I say uncomfortably. I didn't like hearing about his history with girls.

He says nothing and looks up. I look back at him blankly. "I don't know what it is, Shay. I have really strong feelings for you and I'm-I'm still trying to figure out what they are and what to do with them."

I nod my head expressionlessly. I feel slightly disappointed and I don't know why. "I think you should leave, Jack."

"Shay--"

"I'm not upset at you or anything. I just think we need to figure ourselves out before we take things too far. I'm not gonna let myself get hurt again."

He nods at me with a blank expression and puts his shirt back on. I walk him down the stairs and out my front door. Before leaving my doorstep, Jack turns around and engulfs me in his strong arms. I breathe in his cologne and I cherish every second of our embrace. I let go of our hug and peck him on the cheek.

"Don't forget to study for that math quiz tomorrow, Gilinsky." I shout after him as he enters his car. His eyes widen and he mouths 'shit.' I giggle and shut the door.
