DAISY'S POV
"I'm leaving, Daisy!" Shay pokes her head in my room briefly before rushing down the stairs to answer the door.
I give her a quick wave before peering out the window to see Jack's car parked in our driveway. I wait until I hear the engine start before pulling out my phone. I hastily type in, 'She just left' and scroll down my contacts until I spot Sam's name. I press send and wait patiently for him to walk over.
Sam and I have been hanging out for weeks now. I have to admit, it's strange sneaking around and spending time with an older guy behind Shay's back. But it feels...good.
I've always been the innocent child. I've always been the one Shay tells all her reckless nights to, never the one to experience them myself. Not that I've ever particularly minded, considering I am two years younger than her and never so much as gotten to first base with a boy.
My thoughts are interrupted as I hear a knock on my bedroom door. I hop out from under my covers, wearing only boxers and a t-shirt. I open the door to see Sam smiling at me with no teeth as he strolls into my bedroom casually.
"Hi Daisy." He sits on my bed and looks at me.
I close my door and sit down next to him, "Hi. I see you got my text."
He smiles at me with no teeth, "Mmhm."
I criss cross my legs on the bed and turn to him, "How was the party last night?" He told me a few days prior about this 'banger' someone from school was planning to throw last night.
He shrugs his shoulders, "It was alright. The usual. Shay and Jack were there." He pauses and looks at me, "Why didn't you come?"
I look down and mumble, "It's not really my scene." He looks at me and raises an eyebrow, waiting for me to elaborate. I turn to him and say nonchalantly, "You know, the drinking and drugs and stuff. It's fun to hear stories about, but I'm too much of a coward to do it myself."
He smirks at me, "Your innocence intrigues me."
I bite my lip and look away. He leans his forearms against his knees and looks at me. He asks in a cracky voice, "Have you ever had a boyfriend?"
"No."
"Have you...had your first kiss yet?"
I look at him and pause. After an excruciatingly long minute, I bite my lip and shake my head sheepishly.
Sam looks at me and slowly curves his lips into a grin. He moves towards me until he's a mere foot away. He guides a strand of hair behind my ear and asks quietly, "Well... Is it okay if I kiss you now?"
My heart beat quickens as I try to stay calm. I lick my lips and nod slowly.
His eyes flicker from my eyes to my lips and he leans in painfully slow. I shut my eyes instinctively. I feel his warm breath as he inches towards my lips. My heart beats at an abnormal rate as I lean in, closing the gap between us.
He kisses me slowly, allowing me to get used to the novel sensation. His lips are soft and plump and I hungrily move my lips against them wanting more. His hand holds the back my head as he continues to kiss me. His tongue flicks my lips and I allow it entrance willingly. Our tongues wrestle each other as I deepen the kiss, pushing Sam onto his back as I lay on top of him.
It feels ethereal. As if the planets and stars stopped their orbit just for our kiss.
I pull away breathlessly and open my eyes delicately. I stare down at Sam as he smiles at me.
There's a brief moment of a silence as we stare at each other, admiring what we just shared. He moves a strand of hair behind my ear and caresses my cheek. He looks me in the eyes and admits, "I've wanted to do that for a while now."
I bite my lip and smile, "So have I."
He flashes his million dollar smile and pulls my head back towards him, pressing his lips against mine. I kiss him back hungrily and grab a handful of his cotton shirt, wanting this moment to last forever.
