He hesitated for a moment as if deciding whether or not I was really his sister.

"Taylor?" he questioned in a whisper. I just nodded and wrapped my arms around him. I had waited for this for years. His embrace was warm and soft, something I had been deprived of like an animal of food. I closed my eyes, letting his body cradle me. We eventually separated. He spoke again, he did have to ask me like any other transfer. "What's your name?".

"Tay," I spoke.

"Third jumper, Tay," he announced. I walked over to Tris, thankfully she hadn't seen the hug or I would have already been bombarded with questions. I wanted to keep my identity a secret. Peter watched me though, as if he was confused, his brows furred.

Everyone else jumped, Christina screaming all the way down. I laughed at her antics. Molly was the last to jump.

"Welcome to Dauntless," spoke Tobias. "Dauntless borns go with Lauren, I assume you don't need a tour of the place."

The Dauntless borns followed after a short, blonde haired girl dressed in a black leather jacket and black skinny jeans. The rest of us initiates stood in a huddle. I stood slightly behind Christina and Tris. Next to me stood Peter. I don't know why but I was nervous. I stole a glance at Peter, quickly turning my head to the front before he could notice. I heard him laugh quietly and, out of the corner of my eye, I saw him glance at me.

"Normally I work in intelligence but during training, I'll be your instructor. My name's Four," he announced.

"Four like the number?" Christina laughed.

"Exactly like the number," he replied bluntly.

"What, 1, 2 and 3 were taken?" Christina questioned. He just smiled evilly at her.

"We're now going to go to the Pit, which someday you will learn to love," he continued.

"Pit? Clever name for it" snickered Christina once again. God, does she have a death wish or something?

My brother turned around slowly.

"What's your name?" he questioned, deadly quiet.

"Christina," she replied bluntly, full of sass.

"Well, Christina, if I wanted to talk with Candor smart-mouths, I would have joined their faction." said my brother coldly. "The first lesson you're going to learn from me is to keep your mouth shut. Got that?"

"Y-yes," answered Christina weakly.

He smiled. "Follow me."

We walked forward into the dim hallway until we reached the light. Four was right, Pit was the best name for it. It was a giant underground hole with shops carved into the rock. The roof was made of pristine glass which shined daylight down onto the grey, hard floor. To connect all of the shops, narrow walkways and steps had been made. These narrow paths had no railings. Small children ran down the paths and I laughed at their freedom and innocence. Beautiful blue lanterns hung along the walls at various points.

Four led us to the far right of the Pit. In front of us was a ravine filled with water that was white as it battled with the sharp rocks that littered its course. There was an iron bridge that made a path over the chasm, thankfully this one had barriers. The drop from the bridge to the water looked about 7 stories and also looked terrifying.

"The Chasm reminds us that there is a brave line between bravery and idiocy," Four shouted above the rushing water. "A daredevil jump off this bridge will end your life. It has happened before and it will happen again. You have been warned."

I felt a chill go down my spine at his words. The thought of someone being so desperate to die scared me. Four then continued leading us down multiple passageways until we finally arrived at the bedrooms. There were 10 beds, each metal. They were all in a large concrete box with 4 support beams. The beds had grey-black sheets. "These are the dorms. There are boxes with clothes in them; take those and get dressed. Once you're done, toss your old clothes into the furnace and I'll lead you to the dining room," explained Four.

"Girls or boys?" questioned Molly.

"Both," smirked my brother evilly. People stared, jaws open and eyes wide. "Oh, you're going to love the bathroom then."

Four led us to the bathrooms, which were covered in white tile. Well, as close to white as you can get in a bathroom. There were plain toilets and showers out in the open. Great.

The sinks were also an off-white colour and seemed to be the cleanest things in the room.

Once we had all seen the bathroom, the mad rush for a good bed began. I sprinted to a bed against a column.

"Damn, Tay. I was going to take that bed," said Christina.

"Too bad," I stuck my tongue out at her. I opened up the trunk and mentally-high fived myself. There were good clothes in there: some black tank tops, combat boots, skinny jeans and leggings. There was also a leather jacket. I put on a pair of black skinny jeans, black boots, a black tank top and a jacket. I took my old, grey, boring top off and reached for my tank top.

"Looking for this?" I heard Peter say. He was holding the tank top in his hand. I was left standing in my black sports bra. He was standing next to his bed which was across from mine.

I huffed and motioned for him to give it to me.

"How about no?" he teased and kept holding it.

I marched up to him, still in my black sports bra. I caught him staring.

"Take a picture, dickhead, it'll last longer," I quickly put my back to his chest and twisted his arm over my shoulder and slammed him to the ground. Everyone stared and some started laughing. I lightly grabbed the top from his hands and said, "How about yes?"

I walked back to my bed and put the top on. I pulled my jacket onto my body and walked over to Christina's bed, which was next to mine.

"That was awesome," she spoke.

"Seriously, Tay. That was so cool!" squealed Tris.

"I did what I had to do. You guys ready?" I asked. They nodded and we walked towards the furnace, holding our clothes. I looked back to Peter's bed and caught him staring.

I smiled at him and walked out.
