Megan stood up shakily. We followed the other students to a corridor with 6 steel doors. We lined up in the order we were called in. I stood between Megan and a short Amity boy called Anthony.
All of the doors opened automatically and we all walked in, some people obviously more nervous than others. The grey-yellow room was bare apart from a chair similar to a dentist's and wires connecting said chair to a stand with a black, large computer on it. An Amity woman stood behind the computer, her golden-blonde hair tied neatly in a 'half up half down' style. Her sunny complexion seemed to lighten up the spiritless room.
"Good morning! My name is Stacey and I'll be administrating your test," she said, the stereotypical Amity happiness dripping from her light words.
"Hello," I replied. She motioned for me to take a seat on the sand-coloured leather chair, and I did. She handed me a small glass full of an unknown blue substance. "Here, drink this."
I did what she asked without question; I trusted the test, to a certain degree. The cold, tasteless liquid ran down my throat. "The serum will take effect in around half a minute. Remember, do what you would do, not what your faction would do." I nodded. As promised, the unknown serum took effect in around 15 seconds.
Beginning to grow bored, I looked around.
"What am I su-" I started but then realised the woman was gone. 'What the hell?' I thought. I looked around the room: no door, no woman, no computer. I slowly got up from the chair and walked around cautiously. Suddenly, when I looked back, the chair was gone too.
"Choose,"
I served around quickly. A duplicate of me stood behind two raised bowls. One contained cheese, the other a knife. Instinctively, I grabbed the knife. If it was presented to me, it would probably mean I would need it. A second after I had put my fingers around the handle, my duplicate and the other bowl disappeared.
A low growl resonated through the room. Whipping my head around, my eyes set on a large dog, its teeth bared viciously. It sprinted towards me. Squatting down to protect my head, I shoved my knife forward, right into the dog's chest. Waiting for something to happen, I snapped my head up when I heard a puppy-like wine. The vicious dog had now become a small, adorable puppy. "You aren't vicious, are you?" I spoke to the dog, petting its soft fur.
"Puppy!"
A little girl who looked eerily similar to me when I was a child stood on the edge of the room. I looked back at the dog. It was back to its original vicious state. It sprinted towards the girl, its fangs bared once again.
"No!" I shouted but the dog didn't listen. At the last minute, I threw the knife with deadly accuracy at the dog. As soon as it made contact with the dog's fur, both the dog and the girl disappeared. I found myself on a bus jammed full of people. A man approached me clutching a newspaper in his hand. He showed me a photo of a man. I had seen his face before but I couldn't pinpoint it in my memory.
"Have you seen this man?" he questioned.
I answered, "No."
"Please! You could save me!" he said, now panicked.
"I'm sorry, I don't know,".
All of a sudden, the man was gone and I found myself sat back in the chair, Stacey stood beside me. "What was my result?" I questioned.
"Dauntless," Stacey replied. "Well done with that knife throwing by the way; have you done it before?"
"Yes, I train every day with hand-to-hand and weapons," I answered to Stacey. She seemed trustworthy.
"Well Dauntless should be no problem to you then," she smiled. "You're free to go now, Taylor."
I thanked her and walked out through the door.
I got Dauntless.
Ello ello!! The aptitude test is done and she got DAUNTLESS!!
