A girl was flirting with you when I came.
We were in another garden, outdoors.
Palm trees grew everywhere, and sunlight danced through the leaves, casting shadows upon the grass and flowers below. Hidden birds in the trees sang bubbly songs.
I watched you quietly as you leaned against a palm tree, relaxed and laughing with the girl who was almost pressed to your chest. You had your hands shoved in your pockets. A picture of ease.
The girl leaned forward and whispered something to your ears, giggling.
You laughed along.
You had never laughed with me like that. You had always given me those sweet smiles of genuine warmth. But never this joy.
The girl brushed some strands of hair from your eyes away.
She leaned forward again, now really pressing her hands to your chest. You didn't make any move to push her away.
I could only watch as you were unreachable.
No tears came.
Just the deep, hungry ache in bloomed in my chest.
Empty.
Painful.
That's when you saw me.
Your eyes widened.
But before you could call out I took off the hoodie.
You said you'd never abandon me.
You said.
You promised, Park Jimin.
