3rd Person POV
You ran; ran until your breath was out, until your legs felt like jelly. You just had to get away from them. No matter what, you wouldn't let them see you like this, crying over something that happened in the past. Well, your heart gave out as you stopped, finally hearing nothing. You couldn't hear the yells from your friends, telling you to come back. The footsteps you heard behind you were nothing but silence. You sighed, sitting on the ground with your hands on your face. You cried until your tears dried up. The memory stuck into your head. And, as if the world was against you, the echoes began. The echo flowers begun to sing the same lullaby your mother sang to you when you were little. "It's okay dear...." They began, getting louder and filling the silence that loomed above. You held your hands to your ears, trying to block the noise. Was this in your head? Were you just imagining it? Well, it didn't matter anymore as you stood up and went to observe the room you were in, trying your best to block out your demons. Turns out, it was a puzzle room, something that you only saw in books on the surface. Flowers decorated the floor like lights on Christmas. There was a sign that you could just make the words, having studied the monster language last year when you were bored. If an error was made, the Bell Blossom can call Bridge Seeds back to where they started, it said, mentioning the bell to the right. So, that's what the flowers are, bridge seeds, you thought, picking up one seed.
The seed was heavier than what you thought it was, but it didn't affect you that much. When you carried it over your head, it seemed to be much better than carrying it in your hands. You noticed that there was a sign at the bottom of the room. You saw that it was possible for the bridge to be formed, and instantly, you put the four flower seeds to it. They blossomed, of course, and it was safe to walk on. What it said angered you: Congratulations! You failed the puzzle. You groaned in frustration as you ran to the other side of the room to reset the flowers. As the bell rung, the flowers magically ended up in the middle of the room, right where you began. Something about this always fascinated you. As you got to the flowers again, an idea popped into your head. And, as if you can imagine the solution in your head, you immediately finished the puzzle. You walked over to the water that separated you from the exit and let the flowers float on top as you carefully placed the bridge seeds in the order. They bloomed and you finally walked across it to the door. The realization that you left your friends all because of a stupid memory hit you as you hit yourself. You slapped yourself, mumbling "Stupid" as you walked up. But, there was a feeling in your gut that there was something else in the room, something that was hidden.
You walked back, ringing the bell, getting your only exit to vanish like that. Putting your finger on your chin as if you were in deep thought, you tried to get a map of the entire room. "No, you can't fit a bridge there...nope, not that one....perfect." You said, gathering all of the flowers on your head and marching to the other room. The sign still lingered in the distance as you turned to the other direction. You immediately started letting the seeds float as they formed a bridge, a walk-able secret one. You silently cheered, taking pride in your work as you went over and walked onto the bridge. It took you to another room as you walked across. There was a bench in this secret room and, once you were off the bridge, you immediately sat on it. There was an echo flower next to the bench, scaring you a little bit in fear that it'll repeat the lullaby. Luckily it didn't, repeating the words of another monster before. "I just wasn't ready for the responsibility," It said, confusing you a little bit. You bent down and found something laying there. Picking it up, you observed it. "Hmm, must be a quiche of some sorts." You said, turning it around.
All of a sudden, a voice ringed out from the other room. "(Y/N), are you here?" The voice yelled as you crouched and hid underneath the bench. It was stupid to leave the path open for them to get to you. And, as if the world yet again went against you, Asriel appeared in the room, finding you underneath the bench. "Oh there you are. Come on out." He said, putting his hand out for you to grab. You did and you stood up, dusting off the dirt that found its way on your clothes.
