CARLEES POV
"What hurts the most... is being soo close," I hummed while walking into my apartment with my groceries.
I put away my groceries and looked at my arms as my sleeves came up.
I wasn't handling this the best.
I'd cut, cry, and stay awake until 4 in the morning, upsetting myself, when I had to be up at 5 every morning for work.
Work? Oh yeah. I got a job at a local pet shop. It doesn't pay that much, but it gets me to where I need to be.
Jaxon has texted me twice since he left 2 weeks ago.
- How you holdin' up, Beautiful??? (:
- Jaxon
- Answer me, Best Friend.
- Jaxon
He seemed to be taking this okay.
But that's what I wanted right?
For him to be okay.
I want him to find his perfect girl and I want him to be happy.
I just wish he would've been happy with me, and I wish I could've made him happy.
But enough of this, I need to go shopping again. I need winter clothes.
*Two Hours Later*
I arrived at Macy's about two hours after I got my groceries situated and I walked right to the UGG boots and picked out a calf high, black pair and walked back to the winter clothes.
I decided on a nice, down jacket.
I walked into Forever 21 and picked out about 5 sweaters and some cute jeans.
I grabbed some McDonalds, too lazy to even think about cooking, and drove home.
I walked in my front door, ate my dinner in my living room while watching The Walking Dead, and got changed to go to bed.
I got a call at about 1:00 am and knew immediately it was my best friend with a sleeping problem.
"Hello? Are you okay, Jaxon?"
"No," he was crying on the other end,"I had the dream again, Carlee. Are you okay??"
"Jaxon, I'm fine! What's the dream about anyway???"
"These guys.... they hurt you and I was right there but couldn't move. I'd die if something happened to you, Carlee."
"So breaking my heart doesn't apply to that, now?"
"You said you were FINE WITH IT."
"BECAUSE I KNEW YOU WERE SO I DECIDED THAT I WOULDN'T HOLD YOU BACK ANYMORE!" And with that, I ended the call, shut my phone off, and fell asleep humming "Not Over You" by Gavin DeGraw.
