Chapter 13

JAXONS POV

"You're.... you're leaving me??"

"No. Just graduating. Me and my dad talked it over and I have enough credits and I can walk into that school tomorrow morning and leave with my diploma in hand, and go to college. I was waiting to tell you but I got into Montana Tech. and I leave in two weeks."

I couldn't find the right words and I knew if I were to speak right now, I'd cry, I'd lose it, I'd tell her to get out, Id do something I would regret the next minute.

"Baby, talk to me," she whined.

"I- I don't know what to say. If I talk, I'll say something that I know I will regret. I will say something rude, insensitive, or to stop you from fulfilling your dream and Baby, I can't do that. I want you to be happy. I want you to go so far in this world, you'll forget my name and all of the people here who got you started. You're gonna be amazing. I know it. So if that means that we will a; have to try long distance, or b; I will follow you, well so be it. I have enough credits too, you know."

"You do???? Since when????"

"Forever. I just haven't told you. I didn't think you had enough since you DIDN'T TELL ME," I laughed," so I just kept my mouth shut and decided whatever happens, happens. You mean the world to me so I don't want to give you up. Looks like I'm going to Montana Tech."

"I won't let you do that. Not over someone as unimportant as I am."

"Don't you DARE say that again. We've been over this Carlee. You are MY WORLD. I will follow you anywhere. Montana Tech here I come. Now come on, your house to get your clothes, then my house for the night, then Montana to OUR house. Don't even deny it. We are gonna get an apartment and it's gonna be great Baby. I can see it now," I added with a slight chuckle.

"Do you think we're gonna make it through all this?? What if we move all the way to Montana and then we break up?? One of us will have to move out and the other will be screwed!"

"Hey, don't fret. It'll be FINE. I promise you. And I intend to keep that promise. Now, you lovely lady, get in that house and grab your bag and anything you need. You have exactly 7 minutes and 23 seconds before I come in after you. Don't think I won't," I winked, assuring her I would indeed go in after her.

CARLEES POV

"I don't even get a goodbye kiss?" I asked, laughing my way through the sentence.

"Kiss YOU? Um, EW. How about we don't?" He laughed even harder at the end of his sentence than I did.

"Fine. Bye." I slammed the door, not hard enough to be mad, but not light enough to make him think I wasn't "mad."

Within 10 seconds, I felt his strong arms wrap around me and kiss my cheek.

"Time is ticking, my love. I'd hurry it up if I were you," he laughed and then grabbed my hand, untangling me from his arms, placing a light kiss on my lips, and pushing me towards the house,"get going." He added a wink and I knew I better hurry.

"Okay. I have; deodorant, my sweats, phone and charger, sweatshirt, toothbrush, daryl dixon shirt and jeans for tomorrow, my TOMS, makeup bag, curler, The Walking Dead; All Seasons, camera, Lilo and Stitch; The Movie. Think I'm good," I said while talking to myself.

"CRAP," I yelled while walking towards the door,"Forgot underwear."

I hustled back upstairs to grab my undergarments and as I was walking downstairs, I left a note for my dad on our whiteboard;

"Staying with Jaxon. I'll be fine.

Love you Dad & David,

Carlee , XOXO"

And with that I was about to open the door, just as Jaxon did.

"7 minutes and twenty FIVE seconds. Two seconds over is two kisses," he said while pointing to his cheek.

"Hm, no. Now, can we go PLEASEEEEE?"

"Not until you pay up, Missy."

"Fine," I gave up, then kissed his cheek three times.

"You owe me," I laughed.

"Now, let's go," he said as we hopped in his truck and took off for his house.
