- Unless you have a problem with biting your nails, I don't recommend getting acrylics unless you have the money to keep up with them
- Gel polish is damaging to your nails
- Don't rip off acrylics or fake nails, get them soaked off instead
- Polish your own nails and let them grow out if you can. There's anti-biting nail polish out there as a cheaper alternative to getting your nails done professionally every month
- Just try to stop biting your nails, you're eating the bacteria that's on them
- Oiling your nails at night can help them grow faster
- Taking nail supplements like biotin can help them grow out faster
- Invest in a strengthening top coat to apply to your nails once every week
- Keep your hands and cuticles moisturized
- Do NOT clip your cuticles, push them back, they protect from infections
- Every now and again get a manicure
- If you absolutely must have longer nails, do them yourself. It's cheaper and less damaging
- Rock bare nails once in a while. Your nails need breaks too
- When painting your nails you can never go wrong with a nice solid color
Begining Process
1. Clip
2. File (one way repeatedly)
3. Oil cuticles
4. Soak
- Stronger Nails: Egg yolk, honey (10 min)
- Growing Nails: Honey, coconut oil, lavender oil (10 min)
- Dry Nails: Lemon juice, olive oil (10 min) (daily)
5. Push back cuticles
6. Buff
7. Moisturize
8. Massage
9. Paint your nails
Painting Your Nails
1. After the beginning process, apply a base coat to prevent your nails from getting stained by the polish. Let it dry
2. Next dot a drop of the nail polish at the bottom of your nail
3. Then dip the brush in the drop of polish and move upwards in a straight line
4. Return to the bottom of the nail and drag the polish along the right curve or your nail. Repeat on the left side
5. If the coat is too thin, simply apply another layer after the first one dries
6. Once you're done, apply a top coat for shine and to prevent chipping
