"To the girl in the corner"

To the girl in the corner

who can't look away

from the darkness that ensues

and drowns the light of the day

Take heed my girl

feelings like this

are telling you clearly that

something amiss.

Don't look without

please look within

only then you can begin

To see yourself as you wish to be seen

Dust yourself off, Clean the unclean.

Take of the lenses that society casts

See yourself as you

See beauty behind the mask

of sadness and worthlessness

Don't bother to compare

your life to another

It's really not fair

Everyone has problems hidden from view

some see you as perfect, I really mean you.

Hidden in the closest collecting cobwebs there's bones

Some are buried deep beneath soil and stone

some hang on clothes hangers and like to clatter

You have the power to say if it matters.

Don't kill the girl in the corner please

Instead kill all her insecurities

Metamorphosis is yours for the taking

these feelings of depression is the sound of it begging

to take the next step and being a new

Once you've found you

The world will change it's view.
