Shawn likes Emma.

Time for mastermind Aaliyah to get to work.
I smirk and text Shawn first.

liyah- can you meet me at the carnival

liyah- cause why not
shawn- tru ok
liyah- thankssss
liyah- meet at the big scary loopy ride?
shawn- sure be there in 10
liyah- see ya
Then, I text Emma.
aaliyah - hey emma!
emma- hey Aaliyah what up
aaliyah- are u busy rn
emma-nope why
aaliyah- can you pleaseeeeee meet me at the carnival in 10? I'm already here and I'm lonely
emma-😂 sure
aaliyah- yay! thankssss meet at the big loopy ride thing?
emma- sure
aaliyah- see ya in 10
emma- see ya
I smile proudly. My work here is done.
Shawn's POV:
I've already been waiting in front of the big loopy ride for 5 minutes and Aaliyah isn't here. I open my phone to text her when Emma suddenly says;
"Hey Shawn!" I look up.
"Hey Em. Looking for someone?"
"Yeah, Aaliyah."
"Wait what, me too."
We both stare at each other and then start laughing.
"I can't believe she tricked us!" Emma laughs half snorting as I start laughing even more at her snort. 😂 .
Once our laughter dies down, Emma says " we're here anyways, why not have some fun?"
"Sure, why not." I say.
She looks up at the loopy roller coaster then she looks at me. A evil smirk plastered on her face.
"We're doing this." She says an evil smile plastered on her face.
Then she takes me by the hand and drags me into the line.
"Are you sure you want to do this? This line is so long." I complain.
"Are you scared?" She laughs.
"No!" I say defensively.
"Don't worry I'll hold your hand."
After an long hour of waiting, we finally get to ride the ride.
"As promised." Emma says grabbing my hand. We both scream our loudest as the roller coaster goes down and makes continuous loops. Emma grips on my hand tightly, and her hair whips into my face.
"Em!"
"Sorry!!!" She says half laughing.
At the end, we go to check our photo and I look ridiculous. You cant even see my face because Emma's hair is in my face, meanwhile there's a big fat smile on Emma's face. She's beautiful. We buy the photo.
"What do you wanna do now?"
"Food?" We say at the same time, before we start running to the food stand. We both get some cotton candy and share a pizza.
"I'm paying." She says before I can even get my wallet out. I groan as she smiles in triumph. We spend the rest of the day doing more fun carnival rides and eating food. Soon it gets quite dark and we decide to go home.
"Want me to drive you home?" I ask.
"Thank you thank you thank you!" She says.
"You literally live two houses down from me, so like no big deal." I laugh.
I drive her home as we sing songs on the radio at the top of our lungs.
Soon, we arrive at her house and she gives me a friendly peck on the cheek. Before she says "bye Shawn, see ya."
"Bye Em." I sit there with my red cheeks staring as she runs into her house. Is kissing cheeks a normal thing in New York? Oh god. I finally get myself together and start driving literally a few meters to get to my house. I park the car in the garage, before I run inside the house and go straight to Aaliyah's room.
"Liyah!" I say sternly.
"Sooooo how was it." She says smirking.
"F-R-I-E-N-D-S, we're just friends." I sing.
She rolls her eyes "I bet you had a good time."
"Of course I did."
"Ha! I knew it. You LIKE her."
"How does that make any sense? You know what, whatever. Night."
"Night!" She says with a smirk on her face.
Emma's POV:
Why does he have to be so cute, so kind, so frickin perfect? I have a really big old school crush on Shawn and I'm too scared to do anything about it. But... if Aaliyah set me and Shawn up on a blind "date" does that mean she knows that one of us like the other? I'm so confused. Was it wrong that I kissed Shawn on the cheek?
"I'm probably overthinking." I say to myself.
I sigh deeply and then fall fast asleep.
