Chapter 11:

Nori sat on the bed, mindlessly watching the TV. The sheer boredom she felt was only second to the shock she felt from being raped. Theo had taken everything from her. Her freedom, her virginity, her friends, her life. She had nothing.

He'd been out on his errand for hours. Her mind felt like it was racing and buffering at the same time. She couldn't process everything and she wasn't sure she wanted to.

She flipped through the channels again looking for anything else to take her mind away, if only for a moment.

Nori settled on a rerun of Doctor Who, but it didn't distract her. Nothing did. How could it? Even if she escaped tomorrow or the next day, nothing could possibly take away that pain she'd already endured. And the longer she was here the worse it would get.

She wondered how long Theo had been planning this and what else he was going to do to her. How could she have been so blind to his affection? She wanted to believe that he had been a true friend. He'd been her favorite actor for years. His films got her through some rough times in her life. His first movie 'The Pennsylvania Story,' was filmed a few towns over from her and when she went into foster care, she would watch it any time she felt homesick.

She felt homesick now. Not for the home of her childhood, but the home she was making with her friends. Had anyone noticed she was missing yet? Was Derek looking for her? Nori felt like her heart was going to split in two. She didn't want to think about it anymore. She just had to work on escaping.

The door flew open and her heart skipped a beat. Time to face the beautiful monster.

Theo stormed in, slamming the door behind him. He was furious. She backed away on the bed. He threw off his hat and sunglasses, and slapped Nori across the face. She winced in pain.

His hand clamped around her neck.

"How dare you! What rubbish did you tell that tosser, Derek, about us?" She struggled against his hand. She was having trouble breathing. "Tell me!"

Tears ran down Nori's cheeks. She tried to speak, but she couldn't form any words. She was terrified. Theo lifted her off the bed by the neck and threw her to the floor. She landed with a thud.

"What did you tell him?" yelled Theo.

"I...I don't know what you're talking about. What's going on?" she cried.

He rubbed the bridge of his nose, then grabbed her shirt pulling her close to his face. "When the film was going on, what did you tell Derek? About us?"

"I...I just told him that we were friends. I told him you picked me up for work and that we were going out for lunch. That's it," she stuttered.

He pushed her back down. "Then why are the LAPD questioning me?"

Nori debated telling him that Derek thought Theo was in love with her. Which was obviously true. But it wouldn't help the situation.

"I don't know." She took a deep breath and tried to think of the best thing to say. "Maybe because you were the last one to see me!" She stood up. Theo pushed her to the bed. He climbed on top of her and jerked her face towards his.

"Well, let's hope your little stories to Derek don't put us at risk. Here I was getting you a surprise and I come to find out you were conspiring against me."

How could she have known he was going to kidnap her? She was petrified. She wasn't sure what to say, that wouldn't further upset him. "I'm sorry, Theo," she whispered.

Theo's expression changed. His shoulders relaxed and a smile crossed his face. He climbed off and extended his hand to her. "Now, don't you want to see your surprise?"

As fast as his ire had set in, it was gone. She looked at his hand dumbfounded. A moment ago he'd slapped her and choked her. She thought he was going to rape her again. Now he was calm, he even had a mischievous smirk on his stupid, gorgeous face. She felt her lip twitch and she hadn't stopped crying.

"What are you waiting for, darling. Your surprise is downstairs."

She silently took his hand. He pulled her up and walked to the door. She attempted to wipe away the tears, worried she might set him off again if he saw her crying.

Nori followed him downstairs. She was greeted by the sounds of playful barking. They walked into the kitchen and a small black Pomeranian was running around.

"Surprise!" exclaimed Theo. "I know you love dogs." He released her hand and she cautiously knelt down to the puppy.

She suddenly realized how rapidly Theo had messed with her head. She was in such a state of anxiety and fear that even this spirited animal couldn't calm her nerves.

"What do you want to call her," he asked.

"I get to name her?" asked Nori, softly.

"Of course. She's yours."

"Do I get to take her on walks? Outside?"

Theo's smile vanished. "Maybe once you've earned my trust. Until then I'll walk her."

Nori pet the dog and tried to think of a perfect name. The fluffy puppy climbed onto her lap and licked her face. She giggled. It was the first happy sound Nori made since she arrived here. She could have sworn she'd heard Theo let out a content sigh.

The dog started nibbling her hand.

"Who's a beautiful doggo," cooed Nori. "Are you? Yes you are. I think I'll call you Celeste. Do you like that girl?" The dog yipped once.

"How did you pick that name?"

"It's from Danganronpa." Of course she'd pick a character from a video game about being trapped and doing anything to escape, even murder. Maybe that was a sign of her mental state. Look at that. One day of captivity and she was thinking about her mental state like she was a psychiatric expert.

"I've never played that one."

"It's...interesting. Very plot heavy." Derek had bought her all three games when he visited her before she got the job on the film. The job that ruined her life.

Theo knelt down next to her and pet Celeste who immediately let out a small growl and nipped at him.

He held up two fingers to the dog in warning. "Uh, uh, uh, no biting." He pet Celeste again and she scampered into Theo's lap.

She looked at her playful new dog and an uneasiness settled in her stomach. As much as she loved puppies she knew this was just a way for Theo to tie her further to her prison.

But she couldn't let that happen. Her dog's namesake Celestia Ludenberg would never let something like a cute animal tie her down.

"Brilliant. Let's bring this little cutie up to the bedroom and get her settled in. I'll cook us lunch," said Theo.

Nori nodded and patted her leg and Celeste came running. She lifted the dog and followed Theo. Nori slowly realized that Theo had trained her like a dog, in a mere day. She couldn't be compliant. She had to fight.

As Theo locked her in the room with her new dog she thought of everything she must do to escape. It was kill or be killed.
