Chapter 36:
February 4, 2010
It was late. Too late, but Theo didn't have a choice. He'd done something so bloody stupid. Painfully stupid. That simpering chit wasn't the one. He shouldn't have slept with her. Now, he had to get rid of her.
He'd gone home with her. She lived in a small town called Linglestown. He'd stayed in this wretched place because he'd thought this girl was the one. She claimed she was pure. Ha! He knew better, but he got caught up in it all. He should have left last week after realizing she was a liar and a nobody. She was nothing but trouble. And he'd extended his lease for her. It didn't end till the 28th and he'd originally been planning to take her home with him on the 27th.
But now, now, she had to die because he couldn't control his urges and he's slept with her. He drove down the dark road. He parked in front of a house a few doors down from her. What was he going to do? He could drown her in the river. Or strangle her here and dump her body down stream. He needed to get rid of any evidence.
But he'd have to work fast. There was a nasty snowstorm coming and he didn't want his plan to fall apart because the water was frozen over.
Theo left the car. Something caught his eye. A set of chains hanging partially out the back of a beat up red lorry. He grabbed hold of one of the chains and it all started tumbling out. The chains were tangled into a knotted up ball.
"Ugh! I don't have time for this!" he groaned.
He tried to untangle the chains when a light switched on. He grabbed the ice cold metal and ducked down behind the lorry. An angelic voice yelled, "Is someone out there?"
He stayed quiet. "No one's there, mom." The door slammed closed.
He wasn't going to risk getting caught by the people who lived here. He rushed to his car with the chains and turned his ignition. He drove down the street and parked closer to the dumb bird's house. She had already caused too many problems for him in his quest to find the one.

Theo had disposed of his one time lover's body. Now he just had to return the stupid chains he stole. Not that he could easily be traced to a murder. But if anyone came calling he didn't want them on his person. They had been rather helpful in strangling the girl. He had almost used them to weigh down her body when he tossed is the previous day but he quickly found it unnecessary, using items from her own home instead.
He parked in front of the house he'd stolen his murder weapon from. There was a police car out front. What was going on? He should leave. But he was quite curious.
Two officers and a middle aged woman escorted a teenage girl out the door. She was crying and carrying a large piece of luggage. He looked through his tinted windows. She was young, but he could tell that one day she'd be a beauty. Her beautiful red hair sparkled in the sunlight and despite her obvious sadness she reminded him of an angel. He opened his window a smidgen to listen in.
"Why did they go out in the snow?" cried the girl.
"I'm sorry, but there's really no way to know."
"Dad always put chains on his tires! This has to be a mistake. They can't be dead!" she wept.
"Everything will be okay. You're going to be okay," said the middle aged woman standing with her.
