Knock knock

Who's there?

Can't even remember when last my door was knocked.

I stood up from the prayer-mat i prayed isha'i on and opened the door.

"Suprise!!"

Lord, Hussaina.

She was carrying a large pillow king-sized, a basket filled with food-flasks ,a plate, 2cups and 2spoons.

"Am i not welcome?" She said and made funny gestures with her eyes.

I smiled.

I allowed her in and closed the door behind.

I'm scared.

"Hussaina, your mother..."
She interrupted.
"And whats the thing with my mother? She does'nt know i'm here, so chill!" She said freely.

I just watched her as she made herself comfortable in the room. Dropped the pillow on the bed and the basket on the carpet.

Only if i had a sister, i thought.

"Husna, i fried this specially for you" she said serving the plantain and potatoe chips she prepared on the plate.

To say i was speechless was an understatement.

I could'nt argue as the aroma of the peppered-chicken hit my nose on the opening of its container.

I sat with her, smiled and started with Bismillah.

I ate to my satisfaction, its been long i ate like this.

"Husna, Anty yalash" Hussaina teased.
It was then i noticed i had no veil covering my hair. I blushed.

My long, natural and Aishwariya-like hair is always covered, Always.

I smiled.

"Thanks for the foo.."
She interrupted.

Does she have to interrupts me all the time?

"Just ssshhh, never mention okay" she concluded.

Hussaina spent the whole night in my room, we gisted and gisted until there's nothing left to gist about.
But the part that kept me thinking was the fact that she is in a relationship, a serious one.

Am i not older than her?

I don't know what falling in love is or having feelings for someone.

Am i left behind?

Yes! Of course.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The door was banged, i opened my eyes slowly.

Bang! Bang! Bang!
Am i dreaming?

I sat up and looked at Hussaina sleeping peacefully on the other side of the bed.

3:30am says the wallclock.

Bang Bang Bang!
This definitely not a dream.

I stood up, wore my Hijab and headed to the door.

Fearlessly.

The figure that stood in front of the door made my heart pound.

Innalillahi wa inna ilaihir raji'un.

"Toh makira! ina 'ya ta?" She asked angrily.

Ya Rabb

"Tun kafin isha'i ta jaa ta" Hassana lied.

So, they are together.

Without a word, i went back and woke Hussaina.

Asabe and Hassana followed, looking at every corner of the room sheepishly.

Asabe dragged Hussaina from the bed.

"Mama, mene haka danAllah" Hussaina said rubbing her eyes.

"Hakanne, dan ubanki!" Asabe said angrily.

"Abinda zan gaya miki.." She said glaring at me. ".. Duk ranar da kika qara janyo min 'ya ta wannan matsiyacin dakin, you are going to regret it!" She warned.

"Mama..ba ita pa.."
She interrupted Hussaina.

"Rufe min baki!" And dragged her out of the room.

"Watch your back! Zakiyi bayani" Hassana said and followed them.

Ya Ilaahil Alameen.

I closed the door, as tears dropped.

I Abluted and prayed 2raka'ats.

Rabbana wala tahmil alayna isran kama hamaltahu ala-ladheena min qablina.
Our Lord, And lay not upon us a burden like that which you laid upon those before us.

Allah Sarki, Hussaina.
