6:38 PM, Donghyuck's House

Donghyuck opened up the door to his house, feeling nervous about confronting his mother. Mark was standing by his side, rubbing his arms in a comforting way, hoping to calm him down.

"If she does something to you, I can't promise that I won't do anything." Mark whispered as they walked in.

All Donghyuck could do was nod, his nervousness going down due to Mark's voice. But it didn't last long, his mother already coming down the stairs.

"Hello Donghyuck- oh? Who's this? A person you think can save you?" She laughed an ugly laugh, one with pure poison laced into it. The kind of laugh you would never want to hear from anyone.

Mark's grip on Donghyuck's shoulders tightened a little bit, praying that he at least gets to knock the shit out of the mother. She walked down the stairs while keeping eye contact with Mark, his eyes trying their best not to shine in a loop.

When the blue light around Mark's eyes circle around his pupil, it's when he wants something to stop.

Mark has to hold himself back from letting his eyes do the thing because it's too noticeable, and it's fairly bright.

The mother stopped a good distance away from them, her eyes never leaving Mark, and Mark could tell what she was thinking. As soon as she started getting closer, Mark panicked as he looked her up and down, the mother staying frozen in her spot.

"What? Why can't I move?" She asked confused, trying to walk but not going anywhere.

"Mark!" Donghyuck whispered, shooting a look toward his way.

"Talk to her. Confront her. She's frozen in her spot, she can't do anything."

The younger looked back and forth between his mother and Mark, walking a little closer to his mother.

"Mom, look at me."

The mother smirked as she looked up to her son, standing still.

"Why do you abuse me? Why do you hurt me? I'm your son. I don't even know if I can call you mom anymore. Do you know how much it hurts to be abused and know that your mom probably doesn't love you the same way she used to anymore? Do you know what it feels like to get punched and kicked and slapped every single day by the person who gave birth to you?! No! You don't know! But I do, and I'm so sick and tired of it. I don't understand why you have to take these things out on me. Dad left! Years ago! Yet you still manage to hurt me and claim it was my fault he left but I was the last person he talked to before he did!"

Donghyuck had tears spilling out of his eyes, and Mark's heart broke. He hated seeing him like this, but he had to let him finish.

Each sentence that came out of the younger's mouth, his mothers eyes softened more and more. But the last sentence that came out, was what made his mother shed a tear.

"I just want my mom back." His voice broke, it shattered.

For the first time, in a very long time, the mothers eyes were soft and Donghyuck missed it so much. Mark let the mother go from her spot and she ran up to Donghyuck and hugged him.

"I'm so sorry. I'm so so sorry. I love you so much, oh my god. Donghyuck." The mother cried and cried, her hands holding her son up as he felt limp and overwhelmed.

"I know you won't forgive me right now and I'm not expecting you too. God, I hate myself right now. But I promise to tell you everything, alright?" The mother hugged her crying son once more.

She then looked over to Mark, showing a gentle smile towards him as Mark returned it.

"I assume you're the one who took care of him?" She asked Mark.

He chuckled, "I guess you could say that, yeah."

"Thank you." The mother nodded her head, showing thanks to the wonderful boy who cared for her son.

"Now, let me explain everything. I'll go get you guys something to drink and eat."

Mark and Donghyuck nodded, looking at each other before smiling.

"I knew you could do it." Mark said, hugging the younger sweetly, his chin resting on the top of his head.

"Thanks." Donghyuck buried his face into the older's chest, sighing in relief.
