7:02 PM, Donghyuck's House

Donghyuck spat out his water, choking on it from the sudden information. Almost coughing his lungs out, he regained himself and set the glass down.

"I'm sorry for not telling you anything, and I'm more sorry for taking my anger out on you for so many years. You shouldn't forgive me until you're completely ready to. I wouldn't even blame you if you ended up never forgiving me." His mother said, resting her mug full of coffee onto the small table in the living room.

10 MINUTES EARLIER

"Okay, come sit down." Donghyuck's mother had told them, making her own way to the living room as she sat onto the couch.

Donghyuck sat down as Mark walked back out of the living room, "I'll let you guys have your alone time. I'll be out here."

The mother nodded with a small smile as Donghyuck made eye contact with Mark, the older giving him a look of trust.

Donghyuck then turned to his mother and gestured for her to talk.

"So, to start off, before your father left, he and I were having some personal problems but we decided not to tell you because you were so young and we didn't want to put any stress on you. We tried dealing with it but I guess both of us just kept bumping heads each time we tried, so we got a divorce. Both of us agreed to get one because we thought it would be best. Your father was the one who said not to inform you about the divorce, and I told him that we should at least tell you something.. but your father just wouldn't budge. But then, he ended up leaving us both that one night, and I was so angry because without saying anything, he just left. I took all my anger out on you for so many years and now you're 17! I loved your father very much, I still do."

She sighed, running her hands through her hair and letting her chin rest on her palm.

NOW

"Sorry, I got some water on the table." Donghyuck said, wiping the liquid that got spit out. (dear jesus lord that sounds so wrong)

"It's fine."

Mark, who was standing in the kitchen, 2 rooms away from the living room, heard everything from his hearing. He was still mad, still mad that she would even think about taking her anger out on her own son, but whatever Donghyuck accepted, he would accept too.

"Jeez, is there a way to turn this super hearing thing off?" Mark whispered to himself, hitting his palm against his ear.

"I don't know, is there?" The younger boy stood in between the open door, leaning against the frame of it, his arms crossed and one foot over the other.

Mark looked up and softly smiled, his hands traveling to his pockets. Donghyuck pushed himself off the frame and walked over to the older, resting his head on his chest.

Mark chuckled, bringing his hands out of his pockets to wrap them around Donghyuck's shoulders. The older of the two hummed in satisfaction, another delicate smile making its way onto his lips.

"How about we go back to my place and take a nap? I think you need one, you seem exhausted." Mark whispered, his chin resting onto the others head.

Donghyuck nodded.

~~

The two boys just got into the car, after saying goodbye to Donghyuck's mother.

Donghyuck really needed a nap, even though it was probably his third one today. Putting his seatbelt on, he turned to ask Mark something.

"Hey, Mark?"

"Yeah?" Mark looked over to the younger, his blue eyes staring straight into his.

"Did you hear our conversation?"

Mark scoffed as he put his hand on the wheel, driving off. His eyes were looking towards the road, but he seemed to already know his reply.

"Of course I did!"

And the two laughed at the response.
