I held a bottle of Henny in my hand as I sang loudly to the Gunna song that was playing through the speakers. It was yet again another team party, and this time time the club was packed with tons of Kings fan that had been waiting in a line for hours at a time to get in. The first game of the season was approaching quickly and it was Kings routine to throw a party at least a week before. Every one was here, except Mike who hadn't been the same since the incident at practice. Despite Mike's absence, everything else seemed normal. Bottles girls lined almost every corner of the VIP room and I was definitely lit as fuck.

Gratefully I had my driver drive me out here tonight because I just knew it was about so be some other shit. Coach Abe had approved of this party which meant we could wild out as much as we wanted to without worrying about keeping things a secret from him. I lost count of what glass I was on after I began chugging the Henny down.

I normally liked to be one of the few sober guys at the party, but Gianni and Derek had been hyping me up from the moment I got here. The two definitely knew how to egg someone on and I was proof of that.

Derek stood on the railing, spraying money down at the crowd as the girls flocked in our direction. New York was slowly getting chillier but you couldn't tell by the different attires we saw in the room tonight. Girls hopped out in their sheerest of dresses and if that wasn't showcasing enough, the constant jumping and down to the beat of the music had titties spilling out everywhere. It was a sight to see and though none of these girls interested me sexually, I was still a guy and I still enjoyed seeing the ta-tas.

"My jacket Off-White, don't mean that it's beige," I rapped along to the song as Gianni placed his phone's camera on me. He had been Snapchatting the whole ordeal to his crazy amount of followers and I had openly accepted the request. I didn't have to worry about Sage seeing anything she didn't like; I wasn't surrounded by females.

I was just out here living my best life.

I knew she was probably upset after she left me on read earlier today. At this point, I was convinced Sage didn't understand. I loved her, but right now I needed a girlfriend; a support system, not a mom who expected me to call or 'buzz in' at every single moment. This party was my way of relaxing and I'd be damned if I let her outrageous demands fuck up my night. After this, I planned on going home and calling Annie over or something. Maybe it was the influx of alcohol in my system that had me feeling bold. I had been wilding out with Rochelle and Annie all week and still hadn't been caught. Not by a blog site and thankfully not by Sage. My confidence was at an all time high and I was digging it.

Even Aubrey had gotten out of his shell a bit. Kendra wasn't around to keep him company so he was practically forced to interact with us. Aubrey was a social drinker and shit was getting very social now. He was rapping all the words to the songs and using his fingers as fake guns as he pretended to blast the audience.

Even old ass Jack Diamond was grooving to the beat.

"We got the Kings team in the building tonight, make some fucking noise!" The DJ yelled into the microphone, dropping his tags over the beat of the next song. "Y'all 'bout to eat this season or what?" The question had an obvious answer and in response the entire team (minus Mike of course) resulted in woop-ing and calling out our signature team chant while proceeding to eat out of imaginary plates. This was by far the most fun I had with the guys on my team. I didn't want to think negatively, but I was starting to believe Mike was the issue. He tended to overshadow everyone he was around and the fact that he wasn't here and I was noticing qualities of teammates I hadn't noticed before said a lot.
