we skated for two hours and my ankles couldn't be more swollen and blistered. daniel had to carry me on his back to the car. i thanked him as he set me in the passenger seat. he had previously agreed to drive earlier in the day. as he started the car everyone got situated in their seats. jonah was diagonal from myself with zach and alex next to him. poor guy. jack, christina, and corbyn has the back. jack didn't seem to mind the two love birds next to him. i smiled as i returned my focus to daniel, who had pulled out of the arena and had started to drive.
soon into the drive daniel once again rested his hand on my thigh as he smiled happily. i couldn't help but laugh at him. he's quite adorable.
"now what do we do?" zach piped from behind my seat.
"it's about five now, so how about dinner and than a drive in?" i suggested after seconds of thinking. i hadn't been to a drive in in years. everyone murmured agreements as we waited.
daniel soon pulled up into a local five guys and parked the car. excited, jack and zach ran into the building. alex happily laughed at her adorable boyfriend as the rest of us walked behind them. i watched everyone in front of me as i started thinking.
this might be my life now. i technically have a superstar boyfriend, unofficially, and i have five new amazing friends. i couldn't be happier. of course i'm extremely thankful for alex in the first place, but now i have five more friends like her. and she seems happy with zach, which makes me ecstatic. a couple months ago i would only dream of at least a picture with why don't we. now here i walk. smiling, i felt my hand being intertwined with another. i snapped out of my thoughts to look up at daniel. he blushed as we laughed. jonah and corbyn ordered everyone's food as we sat at the biggest table/booth in the whole restaurant.
the two boys soon returned with four filled trays of delicious food. everyone smiled at them as 'thank you's were exchanged. corbyn took his place next to christina as jonah took his next to my left side, with danny of course at my right. almost everyone got the five guys famous burgers, except for corbyn and jack who got salads. they wanted to say 'somewhat healthy' as they had told us. we got five large fries to share family style and some onion rings as well. everyone had their own sodas of course, as no one wanted what daniel and jonah had. everyone was chowing down and laughing at stupid jokes corbyn would try and crack. christina rolled her eyes at her goofy boyfriend as she smirked. i took this time again to admire my new life. i haven't been this happy in a long time. it felt amazing.
"i call driving." jonah spoke quietly as he slid into the front seat. i took shotgun as daniel pouted.
"danny you can survive a couple minutes until we get to the drive in." i protested. he sighed before sitting into the seat behind me with his arms over his broad chest. everyone slipped into the car. corbyn and christina got behind me and jonah in the second row, as alex, jack, and zach took the back. i laughed at daniel as i buckled my seat belt.
"what movies are they showing?" jack said to me as he sipped his leftover diet coke. i took out my phone to look on the website after he spoke.
"they have stand by me and madagascar playing in half an hour and titanic playing in an hour." i said after minutes of searching. zach and jack continued to fight minutes after. zach and alex wanted to see madagascar but jack wanted stand by me. christina and corbyn both didn't care. daniel also didn't care but preferred stand by me over titanic. after minutes more of arguing we decided on madagascar this time. everyone continued with small conversations.
"what's your favorite part of los angeles." jonah spoke after minutes of us being both silent.
"probably the sights and the people really. what about you?" i asked.
"the music. you walk down some streets to people just playing. most of them just want to do it for fun. you really get more of a love for music." he said as i watched his eyes as he spoke passionately about music. jonah was never a one word answer kind of guy. he liked explaining his answers and you would always likes listening.
"what do you do other than music that no one really knows about?" i asked curiously. he thought for a moment.
"well i read but everyone knows that." he laughed.
"i'm not sure really." he followed as i laughed. we continued to chat before i looked out my side window when it happened.
i'm never usually one to scream really loud but i did. i just screamed his name. twice i think but i don't remember. i clearly spoke jonah's name, i know that. it all happened so fast but went in slow motion. i screamed as jonah tried his hardest to press on the breaks. everyone in the back braced themselves. after giving up on the breaks, jonah swung his arm in front of me and wrapped it around my side, trying to give me as much protection as he could from his side of the car and how far his seat was from mind. jonah's  hit to my body was nothing compared to the giant suv that came straight for my side of the car. it had just ran a red light and it looked like it was going to hit the middle of our car. everything happened in a split second but feels like minutes. the pressure of the suv was nothing like the pressure i felt from jonah's arm. everything went dark and everything hurt. i could hear the crying and the screaming. there was ringing. i could hear my name being called multiple times by an unrecognized voice. my mind was flooded with worried thoughts about daniel, who was right behind me. the car pretty much hit us both from the side. the ringing in my ears wouldn't stop. i remember crying, but not quite sobbing. i could hear everything until i could hear nothing.
