"awe jonah." she smiled, bringing her hand up to her mouth as she laughed. that's when i know i've done good.
"you once told me how much youve always wanted to go to santa monica pier so." i said nervously scratching my neck and smiling.
"i told you that the second day we met in the car. you remembered?" she blushed, immediately causing me to do so as well as i nodded. beaming with happiness, she returned her focus to the large scene in front of us. there was lights everywhere and small rides next to a very large carousel and ferris wheel.
"what do you want to do first?" i asked looking back up at her. it was nice to see her smile and be happy.
"games and food." she settled as she looked through the line of games while we walked. we finally came to the darts booth when she stopped.
"awe look at the bear." she laughed looking towards the giant stuffed bear above the booth. darts was extremely easy so we decided on that.
"wanna win it?" i asked as we stood in front of the game. she nodded frantically, still a gorgeous smile tugging at her small lips. i handed a five dollar bill to the lady working the booth.
"how many darts handsome." she said, obviously flirting as she twirling her hair and popped her gum. i gently nudged megan's side before looking back to the lady.
me and megan made a deal when we first became close. if anyone was trying to hit on one of us, that we weren't interested in, that we'd nudge the other person and pretend to be together. the only problem with that is that i don't want to pretend. but anything's better than nothing.
"20 for me and my beautiful girlfriend please." i said as megan moved closer to me. i snaked my arm around her waist as she protectively wrapped her arms around my neck and placed a sweet quick kiss on my cheek, causing me to go red. the lady rolled her eyes as she handed us the medium sized bucket filled with different colored darts.
"shoot when your ready." the lady said, clearly annoyed at us, as she moved to assist another couple. me and megan separated as we took our shots.
"yes!" megan yelled as she hit a couple balloons. once we were done the lady took all the cards under the balloons we popped to separate them.
"you get one extra large." she hummed, placing the cards under the long table. megan hopped up and down as she pointed to the very large bear at the top of the booth. the lady nodded before going behind the booth.
"yes yes yes yes!" megan squealed as the lady handed megan a large bear, identical to the one megan was eyeing. megan quickly hugged the bear that was larger than she was. the fact caused me to burst out in laughter.
"what." megan said, trying to cross her arms and hold the large animal at the same time. she failed, causing me to almost fall over from laughing so hard. megan finally gave up and handed me the bear, that i could hold easily.
"thanks jojo." she cooed as he placed another quick kiss on my cheek before walking in front of me. it took me a minute to snap back to reality before i started following her.
three games later megan had added a small penguin stuffed animal, and a green balloon alien to her collection. she carried the penguin in one arm as she linked her other arm around my arm while we got burgers at a nearby stand. i don't think i ever stopped admiring her or smiling the whole night. i didn't complain about carrying the large bear or balloon alien. seeing her so happy and excited was worth it, especially with what she's been through lately. i was unbelievably grateful that after she was released from the hospital, that she hasn't felt anymore pain. i'm also glad that her and daniel worked things out. i just want her to be happy.
"wanna go on the ferris wheel?" megan yawned as she covered her mouth politely. chuckling to myself i nodded, following the small girl to the large ride. surprisingly, the large bear was allowed on the ride. i sat the bear and alien down on one side of the cart as megan set her penguin down. megan and i both sat opposite to the small collection. as she leaned on my side tiredly, i wrapped my arm around her as another small yawn escaped her lips.
"wanna head home after this?" i whispered looking down to see megan with closed eyes. she nodded ever so slightly and moved closer to me, as i rested my large hand on her small thigh. a small blush crept on her face as i pretended not to notice.
"come on meg. i can't carry you and the bear." i said, jokingly rolling my eyes.
"jooooo." she whined. sighing in defeat, i tucked the bear under my arm as i swatted for the small girl to jump on my back. as she adjusted on my back i grabbed the alien, for megan had the penguin tucked into her chest already. laughing i also grabbed megan's small clutch, she always brings everywhere, and shut the car door with my foot. stopping at the front door i knocked with my foot, soon hearing megan's soft snores from my shoulder. one of my hands was holding megan's leg close to my side as the other held onto the, now quiet heavy, bear.
the door slowly swung open revealing corbyn. as he looked past the door to see me, he started to laugh. i quickly shushed him as he held in his giggles from the sight he opened the door to. as i walked in the house, corbyn walking in front of me, the blonde shushed all of our friends who sat in the living room. all of them immediately smiled and tried to hold on their laughter at the sight of me with a girl on my back as i held a giant bear and an alien. i have to admit that i'd laugh if i saw myself. rolling my eyes at them, i headed upstairs.
as i carefully set megan down on my large bed, she moved slightly to get comfortable. i slipped the giant bear next to her as she cuddled into it. i set everything else down on a nearby chair before turning around to my dresser. sliding my hoodie off i set it in my closet as i looked back to megan. sighing in relief after seeing her still asleep, i quickly changed my pants. not bothering with a shirt i walked over to my bed as megan moved around in her sleep. after shutting the light off i slipped into bed beside megan and the bear.
"mmh." megan hummed as she slowly opened her eyes just a bit. groaning at the bear she moved it off the bed as she moved closer to me. she laid her small head on my chest and draped her arm over my stomach. as the top of her warm body laid on my exposed chest, our legs somehow ended up all tangled together. chuckling to myself at the sleeping girl, i slipped my arm under her head before hearing her small snores again.
"goodnight beautiful." i whispered, closing my heavy eyes.

hope you enjoyed this adorable chapter. i of course smiled writing this. like how cute can they possibly be? spoiler, much cuter. i have most of the rest for the book in like blueprints and they get even cuter. question of the chapter: summer or winter? i prefer winter, which is the best. make sure to vote!
