It had been a four days since Corey died. Everything was quiet because no one wanted to deal with their feelings. Chris paid for Deja to take Corey's body back to Virginia, where they were born and also paid for all the arrangements. Deja requested a one-way ticket, she wasn't coming back.
Cash had finally explained to Gia what was going on. Although she was terrified, she was more worried about the courts finding out and not letting her come stay with her sisters. Cash didn't know exactly why Gia was so pressed to live with them in the situation they were in, but she was just as determined as she was to make sure she didn't find out.
The sisters were all lying in Cash's bed, with Cash in the middle. Yani was sitting up against Cash's headboard and Gia was laid across Cash's lap while she was playing in her hair.
"You always did have a lot of hair," Cash said. "Even as a baby."
"You were a bad baby," Yani said. Cash laughed as Gia turned around and looked at her.
"You don't even remember," Gia said defending herself. Yani laughed and nodded.
"I remember you crying all the time and you stayed throwing your pacifier," Yani said. Gia looked at Cash for confirmation and when she nodded, Gia smacked her lips.
"Whatever," she said. Yani laughed before asking Cash what the lawyer said.
"I can't petition for guardianship until next month," Cash said. "And Gia has to go back in two days."
Cash felt Gia's grip on her leg get tighter and she sighed.
"So she has to stay there that whole time? Why can't she stay here?"
Yani asked. Cash looked at her but did not respond. Truth was Cash felt it was best if Gia did go back to the home until they found Rob. Although Chris hadn't heard from him and they still had Eve and Keva, Cash wouldn't be satisfied until he was dead.
"I have to tell you guys something," Gia said. Both Cash and Yani looked at her as she turned around to face them, sitting closer to the foot of the bed.
"What's up?" Cash asked. Gia sighed.
"Remember when you guys first came to see me and I told you that one of our parents was dead and the other went to jail, but I didn't know which one?" Gia asked, waiting until her older sisters nodded. "I lied."
Yani smacked her lips and mumbled something but Cash put her hand out.
"What part did you lie about, Gia?"
"About me leaving and being the last time I saw them and not know which one died," Gia said looking down at her fingers.
"We're waiting," Yani said.
"When I heard the shots I didn't leave, I was the one who called 911." Gia said biting her lip. "Both of them were down and not moving so I figured they were both dead. When we got to the hospital, Jonathan died."
"When Mina woke up and found out she flipped, saying she still didn't want me or any of her kids and now that Jonathan was dead, she couldn't stand to look at me."
Now Gia was in tears, reliving the last time she had allowed herself to feel anything.
"She pushed me away from her so I grabbed my stuff and ran."
"That no good bitch," Cash said as her nose flared. Yani grabbed at Gia's arms and pulled her in as she cried.
"I just don't understand what I did!" Gia cried.
"It's nothing you did, some people are just heartless like that," Cash assured her.
"I used to think that you were the only one Mina loved, but now I see she didn't love any of us." Yani mumbled.
