18. New Plan

Eve sat between Breezey and Davon, short of terrified about how this plan would work out. Back at their house, it seemed so easy to go in with the plan and discuss ways she would like to see Rob suffer for all he had done for her, but now that the plan she helped create was in motion and she was apart of it, she was scared.

Sure, Eve had done her share of scheming. For the last three years she had done everything Rob had asked her and all she asked for was his love, but that was something he was not willing to part with. She knew she deserved it and now she didn't want it. She wanted him dead.

"Would you calm down?" B said.

"I can't help it, this isn't something I do everyday you know?" Eve retorted. B just glared at her before looking away.

"Be cool Eve," Davon said. "We aren't asking you to pull the trigger. All you have to do is go in, tell him you ran and go to the bathroom."

Eve nodded, not only because it sounded simple, but she felt that was her only choice since Davon had demanded her to chill.

Eve looked down at the borrowed sneakers on her feet and wondered when the last time she had worn some. Everyone thought it'd add to the effect of her running if she had on something of Yani's. She never wore sneakers so Rob would know that she had went to strange measures to get to him.

Chris pulled the truck up about two blocks from Rob's old house. The lights went out and the engine died down as they all went over what to do once more.

"Don't take all day to get to the bathroom, we need it to look like you ran all the way here," B said as she roughed up Eve's hair. Eve shook her head to aid B in the action.

"You'll be by the window?" Eve asked looking at Ty. He nodded with a confident smile. Eve could see why her cousin was so in love. It didn't shock her that she found Ty attractive, she and Yani had similar taste. After these last years though, Eve had learned her lesson and wouldn't even think about getting involved with someone in that way again. She knew she was pretty enough to find her own.

"You ready?" Ty asked. Eve inhaled and nodded. B opened her door and let Eve out as Ty got out the front passenger seat. Eve began to breathe heavily as Ty checked his gun.

"Start running and I'll meet you around there."

Eve nodded. It was now or never. She started off in a light jog but picked up her pace as she heard Ty go around the other way. She tried to imagine that she was really running away and her legs went even faster.

Her lungs began to burn and tears fell from her eyes as she thought about being free from her attraction to Rob. She would love him because of her stupidity in the past, but she couldn't be this person anymore. If she got out of this alive, she was definitely doing something else with her life.

When she turned the corner and neared his house, a small light in the living room was on. Eve ran harder to the door and began yelling as she ran through the gate. She beat on the door and hoped Rob didn't smack her up for doing so.

The door swung open in a moment's time and she was met with Cam's mean face. Eve pushed past him and into the living room where she gripped her knees and tried to breathe. She hadn't run that hard in a while.

"How you get here?" Rob said standing up on alert.

"I ran," Eve said holding her hand up. She stood up to look around. She cringed when she saw Dana. Dana never came around Rob and Eve hated that she picked today to do it. She quickly counted one other guy besides Cam and Rob before falling into Rob.
