Chapter 5

I picked up my phone and dialed Natalie's number. The phone rang a few times and it instantly went to voice mail. 

"Hi" I heard Natalie say.

"Hey Natalie its Sky-"

"Just leave your name and number and i'll get back to you, thanks!" The voice machine announced.

*BEEP*

I  froze with the phone still attached to my ear. I lifted it slowly and ended the call.

"That's strange, Natalie always picks up her cellphone" I said to myself. I looked at the phone curiously and put it down on the counter.

"Guess she's not home" I mumbled. I sighed and went to go to the kitchen to find a snack.

(Chase's POV)

"Bro, you can't be in love with a mortal, that's insane!" Shadow stated.

"Shh, keep it down" I whispered.  Shadow nodded his head.

"Sorry, man its just that , you're like the first vampire in history ever since , Axel Flame did years ago" he said quietly.

"What happened to that guy anyways?" I asked cautiously. Shadow looked at me in disbelief like I was crazy.

"You don't know?" he asked.

I nodded. "Well the Vampire council took him in, and no one has seen Axel since" He explained. My eyes grew wide.

"Well..Um..Skylar's different" I blurted out. Shadow looked at me in disgust.

"Skylar?,That's even more of a mortal name than I imagined" He said smacking his forehead. 

I chuckled and shook my head. "Shadow, she dosen't care who I am, she understands" I added. Shadow looked at me with wide eyes.

"You told her you were a vampire?" He blurted.

Everyone looked at us. I froze and smacked the back of Shadows head.

"Of course my mom told me I was a vampire, idiot!" I lied with my teeth clenched.

Shadow looked like he got the clue and nodded his head. Everyone shrugged their shoulders and went back to what they were doing.

I smiled innocently and turned around and smacked him again.

"Man, you almost blew my cover" I hissed.

Shadow shrugged his shoulders. "Sorry,dude, but if she does understand you, how DID you tell her?" he asked.

I smirked. "Its all started when I first saw her officialy after school...."

( Skylar's POV)

I laughed at him, then lead him the way inside. When we entered the house we took our shoes off and headed upstairs to my room. My parents weren't home yet but they usually get home in like an hour. I noticed Chase staring at my drawing book.

"You draw?" He asked.

"Only when i'm bored" I said.

"Oh, Mind if I take a look?" He said curious.

"Sure, Go ahead" I spoke

He opened the book and started to look through some of the pages, after awhile he looked at me and spoke.

"You're really good, And I have a feeling that your into vampires because most of your drawings are of them" He chuckled a lil.

I smiled "I love vampires, I mean even though they aren't real I'm still fantasized about their way of life, and the things they do" I said.

"Soo, If you met a real vampire you wouldn't be scared of them?" He asked with mystery in his voice.

"Nope, I would probably be excited and eventually want to be one" I told him in excitement.

He smiled his gorgeous smile and I couldn't help but smile back.

"We should probably get a move on with this project" He said.

"Ya, good point." I said

We both started to do our half of the questions and in about half an hour we were done. I got up and went to go sit by Chase who was on my bed cross legged looking like a little 6 year old boy.

I looked down at my shoes and sighed.

"What was it?" he asked.

"Well.."I began.

"Chase, man we've been best friends since our first blood box in pre-school" Shadow added.

I nodded still looking at my shoes. I wasen't sure If I should tell him about our Kiss. But also.. what about the dream? I mean, I put horrible thoughts into Skylar's head, when really, I was just trying to show her who I really am.I looked up at Shadow and saw him waiting for me to start explaining.

"Shadow, if I tell you, you better swear on your life, you won't speak of this anywhere" I pleaded.

He nodded. "Yeah, buddy of course, sure anything." he added. I sighed. "Okay."

"The other thing was....."

"I kissed Skylar and went into her dreams last night." I said with my eyes closed. I opened my eyes and saw a freaked out Shadow.

Shadow looked at me with his jaw dropped and his eyes popping out of his head. "YOU DID WHAT?" He yelled.

"I know , it sounds bad, but it was for a good cause" I uttered.

"Good cause?" he yelled. "Good cause more like to get you dead!!" He yelled.

"But I already am dead.." I added In a sarcastic tone. 

Shadow looked at me in disbelief.

"Yout can't date a mortal, it's strictly against" Shadow hissed.

"They won't ever know!" I said as I shot a glare.

"You can't do this to yourself, unless you wanna be human again" He explained.

"They won't turn me hu-" I got cut off by Shadow.

"Yes they will!, why don't you think, Axel never returned?!" Shadow recalled.

I stopped and froze for a minute. Then I shook my head and closed my eyes.

"You Just don't understand us." I pointed out.

"Maybe I don't" Shadow mumbled. "Maybe I just don't understand, your true addiction to be a mortal"

I glared. "I DON'T WANNA BE A MORTAL!" I shouted.

"THEN BREAK UP WITH HER!" He yelled back with fury in his eyes.

"WE'RE NOT EVEN DATING!!" I alerted.

"Well rather you tell her to stay out of your life.. or I will." He stated.

We looked at each other for a second and then Shadow broke the silence.

"Rather, you make her one of us, or you become one of them.Your deal C" Shadow stated and walked away.

I stood in my same spot. 

"Maybe I should have a word with Skylar."
