Chapter 9

The next morning I woke up to find Chase not in the room. I hopped off the bed and walked to my bags. I grabbed a new pair of clothes and went to the bathroom to take a quick shower. When I finished I dried my hair with the towel and put my clothes on. I put my hair up in a messy bun and walked down the stairs. I looked around and I didn't seem to see anybody home. 

"Chase...Elizabeth?,David?" I shouted curiously.

No one answered. I walked to the kitchen to see a note on the fridge.

     Hey Skylar me and my parent's went to the forest to feed. We will be back in a few hours. Don't be shy to explore the house or do whatever you please. Can't wait to see that beautiful face when I get back ;)

I smiled at the note and put it down. I looked around the kitchen to find something to eat. Hmm cereal sounds good. I walked up to the pantry and opened the pearl handles on the doors to reveal a pantry full of goods. Whoa for a family of vampires they sure have a lot of food. I turned my attention to the cereal boxes and grabbed some special K red berries flavoured cereal. I placed the box on the table and went to the cabinets and grabbed a bowl. I looked down and opened the drawer and found the utensils and grabbed a spoon. I placed them both on the table. I went to the fridge and grabbed the milk and started to eat. A few minutes later I had finished eating and put everything away. I washed my dishes and put them back. I guess since I have nothing else to do maybe I should call Natalie.

I grabbed my cell phone out of my back pocket and started to dial her number. Instantly she answered. 

"OMG SKYLAR I HAVE BEEN WORRIED SICK ABOUT YOU?!" She shouted.

"Natalie I'm fine. Everything's ok" I said.

'Well that's good, But how come you aren't at school?" She asked. 

"It's a long story. But I will be back home eventually" I spoke.

"If you say so. Just be careful and make sure to tell me what this is about later" She said with suspicion.

"Don't worry I will" I replied.

"Well I have to go. See you soon I guess" She said in a slight hurry.

"Ok, Bye Natalie" I said. 

The phone hung up and I heard a knock at the door. I smiled and rushed to it hoping it was Chase. I opened the door to see a boy with shaggy black hair and brown eyes look at me. 

"Hello?" I said questionably.

"Hey" He spoke.

"Uhm not to be rude but who are you?" I asked.

"I'm Shadow. I'm  one of Chase's friends" He replied.

"I'm Skylar. Nice to meet you. Come in" I said.

"Thanks" He walked in and sat at the kitchen table. 

I walked towards him and sat a few chairs away from him. He kinda looks similar to Chase, Maybe a little taller. I wonder if hes a vampire as well?...

He looked at me and grinned.

'Why yes of course i'm a vampire" He smirked.

"Wait...You can read minds too?" I asked.

"Of course. All vampires are capable of reading minds" He recalled.

"Oh..Well that's cool" I said a little awkward.

He chuckled. Just then the doorknob turned and Chase and his parents walked in. Chase looked towards me and Shadow with a hint of jealousy in his eyes. I wonder why he would be jealous? Oh well. 

I got up from my seat and hugged Chase tightly. He hugged back and kissed the top of my head. Elizabeth looked towards me and smiled sweetly.

"Good morning Skylar" She spoke.

"Morning Elizabeth,Morning David" I replied.

"Morning" David said.

"So what did you do this morning?" Chase asked.

"Ate cereal and then a few minutes later Shadow arrived" I exclaimed.

Chase sighed in relief.

"Well that's good. So did you get to know each other?" He asked once again.

"Ya dude she seems pretty cool" Shadow spoke.

I chuckled a little bit.

"That's good. We should go outside and shoot some hoops" Chase questioned looking towards me and Shadow. 

Me and Shadow shrugged our shoulders and spoke.

"Sure" We said in unison. 

Chase smiled and turned to kiss parents.

"Well we will be going, See you soon" He kissed both their cheeks and we left.

"Bye, Have fun" They hollered.

We decided to play 21. I have to admit I was pretty good at basketball but I didn't feel like telling the boys that.

"Hey guys, Wanna make a bet?" I smirked.

"Is that a challenge?" Shadow and Chase snickered.

"You betcha. First person that wins has to choose a punishment for the other 2 people" I spoke.

They looked at each other and stuck out their hands. I shook both of them.

"Deal" They said.

Near the beginning of the game I let the boys get a head start, I mean it's funnier if you act as if you can't play and then beat them and see their facial expressions.

"Is that all you got?" Chase asked.

I looked at him and smiled evilly.

"Nope" I said popping the 'P'

A few minutes later I had won the game and the boys were panting.

"How-What- You didn't tell us that you were that good?!" Chase and Shadow puffed.

I smiled in victory.

"I didn't have too, You guys are easy to fool" I replied.

They shook their heads in disbelief.

"Well what do we have to do?" They asked.

"Oh you will see" I said smiling evilly at the both of them.
