Chapter 3

I don't know what it is about Stefan. Maybe it's the fact that he doesn't just stare at my boobs when I'm talking, and actually listens to what I have to say. Or maybe it's the fact that we can actually have a decent conversation without him being all vulgar and bringing up anything sexual. It's safe to say that Stefan is a good guy. Not the guy that pretends to be good so he can get in your pants, but an actual good guy who doesn't try to grab my ass when I'm walking away.

Wednesday (the day after I met him) he took me out on a date. We went out for pizza and wings, then he took me out for ice cream and we walked around the part for hours getting to know each other better. Thursday night he took me to see The Fault in our Stars, and he didn't try to make some creepy move on me just because we were in the dark, and he didn't laugh or make fun of me when I cried.

We've been texting and calling each other non-stop for the past couple of weeks now, and I can honestly say that I feel something for him, I'm just not sure what yet. Even though we've been spending a considerably large amount of time together over the past couple weeks, he hasn't made a move yet. If I wasn't such a wuss, I'd ask him out, but just the thought of being the one to make the first move, when I've never even been in a relationship before, completely terrifies me.

Kris and Leo have been getting suspicious of my sudden attachment to my phone, but they have no idea about Stefan. All throughout fourth period and lunch, they were harassing me to tell them who I'd been talking to 24/7, but I wasn't ready for them to know. The last time I started getting close to a guy, they threatened him so bad that he stopped talking to me, and I don't want them to scare poor Stefan to death.

As I'm walking down the hall, I can't help but want school to be over already. Stefan goes to high school in the next town over, and I know for a fact that he has football practice, and I wanted to watch him in action. All I had to do was get through my last class of the day. Yay

For the past couple classes, Ian had been sitting in the middle seat, so I had no choice but to sit next to him. I'd been successfully ignoring him, but today he's even more relentless than usual.

"Hey baby doll, I have a question." He says after we've been in class for about twenty minutes.

"What?" I don't bother looking up from my phone screen where there's a picture that Stefan sent me of him making funny faces.

"Who have you been texting?" his voice is calm, monotonous even, so I have no idea how he's feeling.

"Excuse me?" I finally looked up at him and notice that he's looking at my phone screen. I push the lock button so that he can't see the picture or ready any of our texts.

"Who is it that you've been texting these past couple days? Your face is practically glued to your screen 24/7. You probably have no idea what's been going on in class. If you don't start paying attention you're gonna fail." He says, looking at me with an intensity that makes me nervous. I can already feel the heat rushing to my cheeks.

"It's so sweet of you to be worried about me and my grades, but I'll be fine." I say sarcastically. My phone vibrates on my desk, and I look down to see that it's another text from Stefan. Before I can pick up my phone and respond, Ian grabs it and slides his finger across to unlock it. I really should've put a passcode on it.

Ian's face seems to contort with annoyance and frustration as he reads the message. I try to take the phone back, but he only holds it out of my reach.

"So you have a boyfriend?" he turns back to me, anger clear on his face. Him being upset makes no sense to me. He's acting like he likes me or something, which he doesn't.
