AN: Pidge101 It's not an x reader, but I feel like it should be put here. Also, the ending of this was a sudden thought I had and I had to add it, so enjoy the tiny angst.

Fenton was pretty sure his friend Launchpad was setting him up for failure. He had to be. There was no way this could win Ori's heart. It was too cliche.

But there he was, standing outside Ori's house with a boombox held over his head. It was heavy, but he was pushing through the pain. Besides, he can't just turn into Gizmoduck to woo her.

Well, he could, but he wanted to do this as Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera, Ori's best friend and hopefully future boyfriend.

Launchpad reached up to turn on the boombox, setting it to the right song, before diving behind some bushes to watch what happens. The other duck's presence relieved some of the anxiety Fenton felt.

Then the song started playing.

Same bed but it feels just a little bit bigger now

Fenton swung his hips slightly to the tempo of the song, waiting patiently for the love of his life to show.

Our song on the radio but it don't sound the same

When Ori stepped out onto her balcony, her brown hair messy from the sleep he surely just woke her up from, he smiled sheepishly at her.

When our friends talk about you, all it does is just tear me down

Fenton didn't notice Launchpad sneak up behind him and hold something up above him and the boombox. He was too transfixed on Ori. She smiled wide and then covered her mouth, giggling. She looked so beautiful.

'Cause my heart breaks a little when I hear your name

Ori watched amused as Launchpad switched his sign, Are you you made of copper and tellurium because you're CuTe, with another one that said Say yes to the dress.

It all just sounds like ooh, ooh ooh hoo hoo

Fenton stayed pleasantly unaware of the pilot's antics, until Launchpad stepped a little too close on accident. He nearly dropped the boombox, as he spun around to face the intruder.

Launchpad froze, looking like a kid caught with their hand in the cookie jar. The sign he now held in his hands read Do you have 11 protons? Cause your sodium fine.

"Launchpad," Fenton whined, glaring lightly at his friend. "What are you doing?"

"Helping?" Launchpad guessed, setting the sign down by his feet. He looked past his shoulder and moved to take the boombox out of his hands. "Now, turn around."

"What for -oh." Fenton turned around to find Ori standing there, a fond smile on her beak and a light blush on her cheeks. She must have emerged from the house while they were talking.

"Hi." she said, waving shyly.

"Hi." Fenton replied, shifting his feet. "Um... You're really pretty, okay?"

Ori's cheeks turned a darker shade of pink and she reached up to play with a lock of her hair. "R-Really? Thanks... I guess..."

Launchpad chuckled quietly, watching the adorably awkward interaction.

Fenton suddenly held out his hand, heart racing. "Want to go discuss Gizmoduck's pros and cons?"

Ori smiled and grabbed his hands, interlocking their fingers. "I would love to."

Launchpad watched the the two walk away, talking animatedly about whatever they talk about. He set the boombox down in front of him and moved to turn it off, but hesitated, waiting for a certain lyric.
