(Gyro x Reader)

Olive930, this was cute to write. Gyro is someone I should write more of, to be honest.

You were pretty sure he hated you the moment he laid eyes on you. You were just another annoying intern to boss around. That's how he saw you, right?

You couldn't be more wrong.

But you didn't know this until another invention went haywire. The laser shot around the room, burning everything in its path. You didn't have time to react when it turned towards you.

You closed your eyes tight, waiting for the pain. You felt nothing. You opened your eyes, confused.

Gyro was holding the extension plug, a slight smirk on his beak. His gaze met yours and he scowled. You knew you were in for it. He was going to yell at you or, worse, fire you.

Your stomach twisted into knots as he walked over. His scowl intensified when he was right in front of you. You tried to ignore the way your heart raced at how he towered over you.

"Intern, you..." he sighed, reaching out to pull you into a hug. You tensed, surprised, before melting into it. "You gave me a scare, (Y/N)." he whispered.

Your heart fluttered at the way your name sounded when he said it. You wondered if he would continue calling you by it or go back to 'intern' after this. Maybe this was just a one time thing?

Maybe he didn't feel the way you felt about him?

Gyro pulled back, moving one hand up to cup your cheek. His eyes were soft as he looked upon you in fond admiration. But then they got softer as he looked at you with love.

He loved you.

He leaned down to press a soft kiss to your lips. You leaned up to meet him, a happy sigh leaving you.

You felt at peace in his arms.
