I was so excited when I read your request, I had to start writing it immediately! It turned out somewhat different then you asked but I'm sure you will love it!
(Y/N) chewed on the end of her pen watching her boss Scrooge McDuck across the way. He was talking to a man in a suit- a new investor it seemed by the way his tail was wagging in a way that gave her stomach butterflies and made her palms sweaty.
She giggled softly to herself, her beak turning a burning scarlet as her thoughts traveled to how fluffy his tail must be and she ducked her head but not before Scrooge turned and caught her gaze. Dang it why can't she just keep it professional?
Ducking her head brought to view four ducklings standing behind her counter, just barely peeking over the edge. Three she barely recognized, triplets and most likely her boss's nephews and one Webbigail Vanderquack, a frequent face in her work as Scrooge's secretary.
"Hello, Webby," she greeted already moving to log in the girl's visit. "Going to the library I presume?" she glanced over at the girl with a knowing smile, watching as the duckling bounced on her feet.
"Yep! And this time I have Scrooge's nephews with me so Ms. Quackfaster has to let me in!"
(Y/N) laughed at the girl's enthusiasm, her earlier shame melting away into pure bliss. Webby always had this effect on her, the girl reeking of optimism and surprisingly calm energy. "Alright, go on ahead. Do you want me to let Scrooge know you're here?"
"Nope." one of the triplets -the one in a green hoodie and playing on his phone- said with a barely concealed smirk.
"Okay then..." she replied awkwardly. "Have fun, kids."
"Oh, we plan on it." the duckling replied again, this time with a grin that was honestly down-right menacing and scary. He started walking away, forcing the rest of the group to follow and leaving (Y/N) wondering if she should stay at a hotel tonight.
------
"You know he still has feelings for Goldie, right?"
(Y/N) froze mid-reach of the pot of fresh coffee she had just made. She turned, looking down at the neutral expression on the green triplet's -Louie she thought she heard one of the kids say- face. She shook her head turning back to her coffee.
"I don't know what you're talking about-"
"You're in love with uncle Scrooge, right?"
Her blood ran cold and she tensed. After a minute she swallowed and continued, "Or how you got into the break room." she poured herself a cup of coffee and stepped around him to sit at a nearby table, he followed -like an annoying puppy, she thought- and took up the seat across from her.
"I used a dime," he said simply as if that made any sense at all. "And you didn't answer my question."
"Which one?" she shot back, gripping her mug tight.
"Both." one word answers, huh? They seemed to be in a stalemate. She could answer or she sit here forever, staring at a devious little child in a hoodie. It sounded similar to something she saw in a tv show about camping or whatever.
Then, much to (Y/N)'s relief and the boy's annoyance someone walked into the one, pausing to raise an eyebrow at them. It was a guy from accounting, Rob something maybe. She mentally thanked him for giving her an outing out of this conversation.
Louie stood walking towards the door only to stop beside her. He glanced at her, a frown set on his beak. "He won't love you back. You know that, right?"
