Jordyn's P.O.V
It's been a week since the whole Jay situation. My dad and I filled for an emergency restraining order so I had my trail yesterday. Jay is no longer legally allowed to come near me, not that I believe that will stop him but it gives me some hope. My mom has been recovering fast and well. The time that I've been back home I've rekindled some of my friendships. Today I am hanging out with my best friend Nia.
"JORDYN NIA IS HERE" My dad yells
" OKAY. NIA YOU CAN COME UP" I yell back, my family's way of communicating
" Sup hoe" Nia says while opening up my door, I laugh and smile. Nia is like my other half but a little rowdier. We would only fight about Jay, she didn't want me going back to him but I stupidly always did. I stopped talking to Nia because we were both always busy but every once in a while I would respond to her Snapchat story or vice versa and we would start a conversation from there.
" Hey Nia," I say while getting off my bed and giving her a hug
" How are you girl? Did little nigga try to hit you up again?" She asks which makes me let out a chuckle
" Zion or Jay?" I ask, she shakes her head
" Both,"
" Jay isn't allowed to talk to me and I'm not planning on talking to him. I blocked Zion on everything, he tried to call me off of someone else's phone but I hung up" I say
" You really like him though, I can see it in your face," She says while using her left hand to squeeze my cheeks. I swat her hands away and laugh
" I do but he's hurt me a lot and always in the same way and the same person," I say truthfully. The only thing that I left out is that I miss him
" Have you heard him out?" Nia asks me, I shake my head no
" Why not?" She asks
" Because I don't want to hear the bullshit excuse that comes out of his mouth,"
" Jordyn, give him a chance maybe it's not what you think," Nia says
" Nah, I'm good," I say while shaking my head
" Jordynnnnnnnnn" Nia whines
" Drop it, Nia," I say in a stern tone
" Ughhh okay. So have you decided what you are going to do about L.A?" Nia asks me changing the subject
" I honestly don't know. I love almost everyone in L.A and it's like my second home" I say while looking down
"But?" Nia asks
" But my mom, I can't leave her especially not in this state. I have to be there for her, she's always there for me" I say, unknowingly a tear falls down my cheek, damn this has been happening a lot. Nia places a hand on my leg for reassurance
" Jordyn, she wants you to go back, you need new adventures. Everything in L.A was good for you and I know you love it and plus Zion's there" She says while nudging me
" Okay but you're not," I say, she chuckles
" Or maybe I will be," Nia says, I look at her like she's crazy
" Whatchu talking about Nia," I say sounding like Arnold from Diff'rent Strokes, we both start laughing which makes me forget that I was just bawling my eyes out a second ago.
" Well I might have got an offer from the University of Califonia, Berkley and the University of Southern California," She says like it's not a big deal. On the other hand, I start screaming and jumping up and down
