Chapter 5

Both Alec and Magnus had arrived at Edom which Alec had learned that it's where Asmodeous is currently living as well the other princes of hell.

The atmosphere was totally different from Earth, it was humid almost suffocating yet Alec could feel that he can breathe normally. He looked around found that everything looks barren, like a wasteland.

"Welcome to Edom, another form of Hell" stated Magnus.

"I thought it would be ..." said Alec not finding words to describe the scene before him.

"More hot with the screams of the tortured souls in the background!" exclaimed Magnus finishing Alec's thought to which Alec nodded his head.

"No, this is a form of solitude for any greater demon or of banishment as my father would like to dub it" explained Magnus.

After few moments of observing the scene in front of them, Alec, felt Magnus' hand holding his.

"Let's go to meet Father" stated Magnus.

"It's like 'Meet the Parents' but in a twisted version" joked Alec.

"Well if you say it this way" stated Magnus in a mock tone.

"Do you think your dad will like me?" asked Alec.

"You are going to meet a greater demon for the first time in your life and you only care if he's going to like you not fearing what he is!" exclaimed Magnus.

"And did we just talked as if we are in 'Twilight' movie just now?" wondered Alec.

"I think we just did! Well, we are here" stated Magnus after arriving at a big house that resembles an abandoned mansion.

Meanwhile, everyone was still staying at Magnus' loft as per his request. He stated that this way, they will be extra safe as Valentine won't dare to attack them while taking a refugee at the High Warlock of Brooklyn's home. He clarified to them knowing who Magnus Bane is, he won't think about attacking them while being under Magnus' protection.

"Do you think that they have arrived to Edom?" asked Jace worriedly.

"I don't know. But let's have faith in them honey. These are Malec whom we are talking about" stated Clary as a matter-of-a-fact.

"I know but... Wait a minute! Did you just call Alec and Magnus as Malec?" asked Jace is amusement.

"Yes, I did. It's a catchy shipping name, don't you think?" said Clary smirking happily distracting Jace from his worry.

"Well I gotta hand to you Clary. That's a ship-worthy name indeed for our favourite new couple" said Simon.

"I know I'm very good at this stuff, right my parabatai?" inquired Clary while Simon nodded his head.

"Indeed you are darling" stated Jace while smiling fondly towards his fiancée hugging her close to where his heart is.

"Don't worry son. Alec is in a good hand. Magnus is more than capable of protecting his boyfriend" said Jocelyn wisely.

"I know that mom but I'm also worried about Magnus. From what you have told us earlier, I'm sure Magnus is the one for Alec and I don't want something to happen which might let Alec be devastated should he loses him" stated Jace thoughtfully.
